  1. Yup, that's something to watch, too. Bonus, he's played 1B and OF (although not much recently) in his career.
  2. They may have quantity of internal candidates for 2024, but do they have a quality candidate for (more than just part of) 2024?
  3. Soler off of the board to Giants. The Giants were supposedly considered a leading team for Chapman. Does this signing affect their interest in Chapman? Can the Tigers effectively persuade Chapman into a one year with a vesting option or two year with a player opt out? I know a lot of folks are interested in Jung being brought up at some point this season, but I'm not sure that is something to count on. Chapman at 3B is a defensive upgrade over the current situation. The offense is a question mark, but so is the current situation. I think at this point, salary wouldn't be too big of a deal for the Tigers. Its not like they would be bidding at $40M for this season or something ridiculous like that. But if its a short term deal, offer a way out for Chapman to potentially capitalize on a bounce back season.... why not?
  4. Have you ever considered writing a book?
  5. Are there too many of those schools that fear being left out? Is Minnesota or Arkansas or Virginia Tech just content with the status quo for now just to get to the next step in this odyssey?
  6. I think he (the partner) tries to talk too fast and that is where he gets himself crossed up. If he would slow his cadence down a bit, I think he'd be a better listen.
  7. It’s ok, they probably couldn’t hear you talking.
  8. Oh, sure. It’s just unusual see that occur for this long. Absolutely. Maybe practicing, bonding, finding out where Drunk Uncle Tom lives and tee peeing his mansion. It is probably fortunate scheduling with all of the recent turnover. That means the NBA will drop the Pistons like a rock in the lottery, just so we don’t get the impression of preferential treatment.
  9. I usually listen to that one on the way to work. It’s good for picking up on Tiger news, recapping previous day/night games, previewing the next series.
  10. He brought a lot of joy to us that couldn’t make it to camp. He spoiled us. Gosh, it wasn’t even game action or even practice field stuff. Photos of guys walking to/from the clubhouse were sufficient enough to remind us that baseball and warmer weather were on their way up north.
  11. I think we have our candidate:
  12. Pretty sure I saw somewheres on the interwebs that Baez is already in camp and he’s working with the batting coach that worked with Aaron Judge and Kerry Carpenter. Sounds good to me.
  13. I was thinking over the weekend about pitchers and catchers reporting this week, and then starting thinking about HueyTaxi's photos of the goings on in camp.
  14. The Saturday matinee at the Clippers followed by a Tuesday night game at the Lakers. That's a long time to be on the road in one city.
  15. He stopped the "Deeeeee-troit" pronunciation. They've really slowed down on the reliving college days stories and the dating life updates. So maybe there's hope.
  16. Well, since you bring up the position coaches and one on one relationships with the athletes, how much of that has changed recently with technology, the transfer portal, and NIL? Is that really a part of closing a deal?
  17. Biden is too old. But Trump is too senile. And that's basically what we have to pick from for the next presidential term.
  18. Drunk Uncle Tom Gores is in attendance. Fortunately he has not tried to check into the game yet.
  19. That speed he has can be lethal. I mentioned the other day he seems to be using it more judiciously whereas in the past he allowed his speed to get himself into bad positions. It’s probably just a matter of experience, what worked in college might need adjustment in the the pros. He’s having a good stretch here. So fun to see.
  20. Fun game so far. I’ve never seen a sports team wear the “Hello, My Name Is….” stickers as a part of their jerseys, but it might be helping the Pistons today.
  21. It’s been a painful era to be a Piston fan. I mean, the front offices have gotte what they’ve deserved for the most part. But, damn, just by law of averages, at some point this team should sniff .500, even if by accident, right?
  22. Yes, that’s a slight technical obstacle.
