One of the aspects of baseball that I appreciate is that it truly is a game to game coin toss. In general, top teams win around 60% of their games and bottom teams win around 40%. That range is extended for the other major sports, something like 75%-25% for the NBA as an example.

I find it frustrating. Maybe I’m too harsh about the extremes, I don’t know. I’ve mentioned it before, I wonder if his severe upper cut makes him more prone to prolonged slumps and if it will be a hindrance as he ages.

They’ve been doing this for a while. I’m pretty sure Riley Greene did this the last time they were on ESPN. Did you see the all star game? Clayton Kershaw was talking while pitching. Literally in the moment. Now, granted, that’s an exhibition game and he was only in there for two batters. But he was a blast on his short time on the mic.

But you didn’t really answer how to handle the 9th inning or how to handle Vest/Finnegan. Do you just use them in only the 9th inning on a rotating basis?

Hey, riddle me this. You have this cockamamie theory that Vest can only pitch the 9th inning because that’s what he does. The Tigers just acquired Finnegan who also pitches basically only the 9th. How do you handle that? Should Harris have looked for 8th inning only pitchers, 7th inning only pitchers?

It’s unfortunate, but it’s part of the risk. It could happen at the Little League game, or the Iowa cornfield, or Rickwood. MLB finally suspended it until tomorrow. Both teams were off tomorrow. It’s the correct decision and hopefully those folks can still attend.

We had a teammate on a softball team that drove dirt tracks. We went to watch him one night. We were a bunch of dumb city folk that thought it’d be cool to sit close to the track. We ended up picking dirt out of our teeth for a week.

We had a tour of Fenway on a night game day last year. I think we went around noon? Maybe a little earlier. Anywho, when we were leaving, they were using the street along 1B as parking for the player’s’ vehicles.

The tarp is back on the field. There is more rain coming. They just need to eat it and play tomorrow. It sucks. But there is no reason for it to suck, and/or injuries to occur, and/or this game to not start until midnight local.

I don’t know what this is supposed to prove. A pitcher’s job is to get outs. Doesn’t matter what inning. Vest has better numbers in the 8th than he does in the 9th in his career.
