  1. Welp,…. This game is over. Nothing else to do tonight. Go out and kick their ass tomorrow.
  2. Yup. Probably not the best game to have right after the trade deadline given their needs, the perception of how those needs were addressed, and how this game was lost.
  3. How do you figure the Tigers have the least production out of 3B in all of baseball? They’re middle of the pack on bbref WAR.
  4. I suppose that could be it if Montero has options. I don’t know if he does.
  5. So Finnegan, Morton, and Montero need roster spots. So long to Jackson, Kahnle, and Lee?
  6. Yup, this is basically it. Morton and Paddock to round out the rotation. Lots of bullpen options to sort through. Melton factors into that now (and maybe Olson does as well in time for the playoffs). Finnegan, Holton, and Vest as the end of game trio. The offense is fine. They had the recent stumble. But they've been fine aside from that. And given the playoff schedule, they can drop a pitcher and add a bat, probably RHH. The deadline was unspectacular. I'm not all that surprised. I'd have preferred Merrill Kelly as a SP addition. I'd have preferred Bednar as a RP addition. I think Castro would have been a fine bat that fits the position player usage. But I'm not surprised by the under the radar additions.
  7. That's interesting. Do we think the Tigers might have acquired Sewald's shoulder in order to best remedy Olson's shoulder?
  8. I was thinking of the children that visit this site.
  9. 3 of the 4 would be dandy.
  10. Sarcasimir strikes again.
  11. Melton pitched like we was afraid the Tigers wouldn’t be able to get to Dairy Queen before they close tonight.
  12. Trade within the division? That's absolute madness. That never happens.
  13. Either way, it’s a lower body injury in hockey.
  14. Clearly they are showcasing Kreidler to Arizona for Suarez.
  15. I liked him as an option last offseason. Imagine him rather than Maeda?
  16. In the opinion of the right (ie, whoever can authorize that deal) people he has.
  17. $21 M for 1.8 WAR. I’m not sure what they see in him, but I suppose it’s low risk for now.
  18. Don’t underestimate carry out, delivery, or dine in.
  19. Clearly your sacrifice was to our benefit. Bless you, good sir.
  20. If the Dems let it go because Clinton or some other big name is on the list, then shame on them. And it goes to show both sides as morally bankrupt.
  21. I agree, I don't think he'll be forced to deal with the consequences for his actions. Best case scenario is more within his base finally figure out who he truly is rather than continuously falling for whatever false imagery they have about him.
  22. I don't necessarily disagree with the overall tone. I'm just not sure how fair it is to lump the second half of last season in when explaining this team. They had 2 SPs for a large part of that back half, a fantastic bullpen, and relied on pitching chaos. This year is a pretty significant difference in that aspect. Heck, just looking at Flaherty alone is a contradiction of success over 140 vs the last 11 or 15 or whatever. But they're not the best team in the league as they were for the 1st 3 months of this season. They're not the worst team in the league as they have shown in the last two weeks. They're somewhere in between, and simply going through a slump right now.
