  1. Detroit Tigers vs Colorado Rockies Watch: Rockies - ATT SportsNet-RM, Tigers - Bally Sports Detroit Listen: Rockies - KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM , KNRV 1150, Tigers - 97.1 The Ticket
  2. I guess I forgot Maton and Marisnick on the current 40. If Marisnick returns, this team has problems. Hopefully Maton can salvage a bat and be good enough defensively to play 2B vs RHPs.
  3. I’d guess this as of now: Torkelson, Baez, and Greene returning and playing everyday. Carpenter returns, should play everyday now to see if it’s something that could work going forward. Vierling and McKinstry likely back as bench pieces. Baddoo likely back vs RHPs. Malloy makes his MLB debut, plays regularly, position to be determined. MeadowsP and Keith have a chance to make the team, but I’m not sure it’s guaranteed. Cabrera, Schoop, and Nevin are gone. Haase is not helping his cause. Short, Ibanez, and Kreidler might be in position to bump one another off, can’t imagine the whole trio returning and perhaps there will be room for only one or none of them? I’m sure I missed somebody. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. I think last offseason was plugging holes and coming up with a roster with options. I think the theme of this offseason will surely be different to an extent. I think we’re going to see more of an effort to competing in the division rather than just filling jerseys.
  4. Ibanez? Seems like too much of a free swinger. Moving on from Baddoo and McKinstry?
  5. Good environment to sell Bogdanovich.
  6. It’s easy to assume Candelario was due for a bounce back season. I’m guilty of that. But what we can’t quantify is how much of this season is a bunch back to the means, simply a return to form (and maybe beyond form). And we also don’t know how much of that can be attributed to being in a different environment. Perhaps there’s something that occurred in Washington to help his rebound that wouldn’t have happened in Detroit. Perhaps he simply needed the rebirth of a different setting to start fresh. I don’t know, I don’t think any of us can know. Heck, Candelario might not even know. But, hey, good for him to extend his career. Harris didn’t have an easy decision with him this past off-season. I think there was reasonable rationale to retaining him and similar to letting him loose. I’d have probably preferred to keep him, but I was vehemently against Cisnero and look how he’s done. So what do I know?
  7. I suspect a bit of the struggles he has had are due to maybe going through any struggles for the first time and trying to figure out that process of getting through it. We know how well he did at ASU and in his short stint in the minors before his debut. When he was demoted to Toledo, he still struggled for a time. I suppose that could indicate a physical adjustment that took some time, but I wonder if he was simply fighting with himself a bit.
  8. I’d rather not send a player given the fact that (1) none of them are really all stars and (2) the Tigers have had enough injuries this season, no need to chance the Tiger rep step off of the platform and break an ankle during team photos.
  9. That’s not actually me. I’m blonde.
  10. Jim was drunk in the 90s.
  11. If he’s healthy.
  12. At least he didn’t get hurt.
  13. I’m playin’ chess here.
  14. Hopefully Brooklyn follows through on matching any offer.
  15. Yes. @Shades of Deivi Cruz got me hooked. I take some measure of pride in jogging my memory for the team & team combos. But there was a question about Marlins & Cy Young winner that made me realize I am losing touch with MLB as a whole and maybe becoming too focused on the Tigers. I couldn’t correctly guess Sandy Alcantara from way back in 2022.
  16. I saw his baseball card (as a Tiger) at a restaurant last night and was inspired. No, Fruit Loops was not on the menu.
  17. I wonder if 30 starts per season is following more than 3 times through the batting order for starting pitchers.
  18. Yeah, I was strictly talking about the trade.
  19. I don’t know. Young players, and Wiseman hadn’t even gotten a lot of playing time. Different environments can be beneficial to players and, in turn, teams. It’s obviously an extreme example, I’m not at all suggesting it’s the rule. But we all knew what Ben Wallace was when he got to Detroit, right?
  20. Well, Omoruyi or not, I think moving players is going to happen. I think draft night was too quiet for Weaver. I didn't mind the trade for Bagley. Give him a try, see what happens. I think we've seen it, and its time to move on. That's fine. Bogdanovich specifically, I wonder if its better to be patient and wait out other transactions. I wonder if his market increases as things progress and options become fewer. The lack of defense is tough, maybe as the offseason goes along, given the relative lack of offense in free agency, what can they expect to get for him? Hayes, again, I think he can serve a bit of a purpose on his way out the door. Maybe he takes the lack of an extension to heart, plays like it, and they can move him at the deadline. Along the way, Sasser isn't forced into too much time at the beginning, he can be a 4th/5th G and earn his stripes to move up the chain of command. That probably seems the most optimistic outcome.
  21. I thought about the size with DiVincenzo also. It might be an issue, but the 3 point shooting needs to be added. Cunningham & Ivey with Sasser/Hayes & DiVincenzo off of the bench. Duren & Bogdanvoich & Thompson with Wiseman/Bagley & Stewart & Burks off of the bench? Obviously not that linear, and some matchups dependent upon game flow and situational. Heck, it might not even be a 10 man rotation, could be 8/9 with some spot duty. Hayes is going to be phased out while Sasser gets through his rookie season, but with Cunningham around and hopefully with a more healthy team and experienced Ivey, Hayes' inability to score isn't as glaring and his defense and passing can be beneficial to the cause. Bogdanovich being moved now would really be helpful, I think. Sure, they would miss his shooting. But if he could be replaced with a somewhat offensive equivalent that plays better than zero defense, thanks for the memories and please bring back some future draft picks. Gotta think his offense would be desirable given the market.
  22. Those talents are acceptable. I think that's a reasonable offseason. Barnes has 10 seasons under his belt already? Good grief....
  23. I've had those days at work. Get up from the desk, pace around the office/hallway muttering. Not sure which scenario looks crazier.
