  1. By quarter, it was -8, -4, -7, and -7. At least the consistency is there.
  2. I thought it was a refurbish?
  3. They have to let things play out to see what they have. Part of the early season issues are the new coaching staff and probably too much youth / inexperience on the floor. As far as Cunningham is concerned, there's plenty of time between now and then to decide. He needs to stay healthy and play, its that simple.
  4. Filling out the Mud Hens’ roster already?
  5. Gotta laugh to keep from crying.
  6. I think he might be the better option. He won't cost as much in dollars or years. So the risk is lowered. And with the reduced salary from Imanaga vs Yamamoto, they can take that opportunity cost and apply it to other needs.
  7. Talk about a clash of the titans....
  8. He's 35. He did have some injuries. But he's not a below average starter. 2 of out 3 ain't bad.
  9. I would hope no blood would be shed. Just a little ink on paper, that seems sufficient.
  10. Yeah, I suppose just salary along it could very well be that. But the true cost of acquisition includes posting fees. Whether that is paid up front or annually during the life of the contract, and how that factors in as AAV for the luxury tax (or whatever MLB calls it these days), I don't know.
  11. This is beyond comprehension.
  12. Congratulations to the 2023 American League Central Division champion Minnesota Twins.
  13. Or possibly Imanaga. Either would be a welcome addition to the rotation and allow a bit more leverage for a trade move out an arm for a bat. But your core and payroll suggestion is spot on. I think I read somewhere that 2024 player salary with Maeda is $83M or $84M next season, so about what you thought with $80M. I've seen suggestions of 9/$225M for Yamamoto and 5/$85M for Imanaga, both of those not including posting fees. I don't really know what those amount to, if they are paid upfront or during the life of the contract (my guess would be the former). So one of those two keeps them below $125M for next season. They were at $120M last season.
  14. Could be, if the Tigers suddenly find themselves flush with SP. But they have to get to that point, first.
  15. I guess it depends upon how one looks at it. The one loss teams had a shot, they just happened to lose a game along the way. It will be interesting to see what happens if Alabama, who should be a two loss team, two loss Louisville, and three loss Oklahoma State win their conference championships. It would likely be Michigan, PAC 12 champion, Alabama, and,…. Georgia?
  16. Good news is it’s true, he will locker next to Ohtani. Bad news is it’s Jimmy Ohtani’s locker.
  17. Indeed. 2 for $24M? Really? Did Harris lock in a Black Friday deal?
  18. We're gonna need a bigger car.
  19. Indeed. If he were able to do that without sacrificing BB9 and SO9, then the Tigers have a two headed monster between Mize and Skubal at the top of the rotation. Both are under control through the 2026 season.
  20. Ryan Day doesn’t have the odd random out of nowhere unexpected loss to Purdue or Iowa like Urban Meyer does. He’s lost twice to good Michigan teams, his only 2 losses in the Big Ten. He’s lost to eventual national champion Georgia in the playoff. He’s lost in the national championship to Alabama. He’s lost at home to Oregon which, rivalry aside, is probably his worst loss. He’s maintained the level of talent that OSU has had for years. I don’t want to swap him out for Meyer, not a flippin’ chance.
  21. I thought it looked like Mize was turning a corner in 2021. But I agree with you, I think Skubal seems the best bet of the bunch to be an ace.
  22. Feel free to put whatever stock you want to into this, but MLB Trade Rumors predicts 2 for $36M.
  23. I’m concerned about Mize. Even if he is healthy, how many innings can reasonably be expected out of him in 2024?
  24. No picture today. Pictures are for winners, kids.
  25. I’ve got some other ideas, but Harris isn’t returning my calls.
