  1. Imanaga has been throwing 150 IP per season and over 6 IP per game since COVID (baseball reference shows only G, not GS). I would think he’s going to find a SP role in MLB. I think another LHSP would be good for the Tigers. Now, if they were to acquire him and he’d be bumped to the bullpen due to the rest of the rotation being stout, well, I wouldn’t necessarily be adverse to it. But the price tag likely exceeds the role at that point. The bullpen could use another LHP, maybe more so than the rotation. I think they can adequately fill that role at well below what Imanaga is going to receive.
  2. Imanaga intrigues me. There is the obvious age difference at play between he and Yamamoto, but I wonder if Imanaga might be a better value for the price tag and allow for more investment elsewhere on the roster?
  3. I’ve never seen the butt fumble until today. Wow. I’m going to need to reference that the next time I’m feeling down on myself.
  4. Bring back Masao Kida. Aren’t the looking for another coach?
  5. That’s one way to kill time over a holiday weekend.
  6. Why? Its the MLB playoffs. They both beat and lost to teams with better regular season records.
  7. 84 wins hasn't won a division since the 2008 Dodgers won the NL West. 90 wins is a playoff team. Build to win 90 games.
  8. Did you have Arizona as a playoff team before this past season began?
  9. I think in this day & age with 3 wildcards, a team that wants to make the playoff aims for 90 wins as a target.
  10. I think they need to and can aim higher than 84 wins.
  11. I like Maeda's ratios. But I'd like to see some more IP brought in. They can bring him in, and hopefully they can get 150ish IPs out of him. But I think they'll need to bring in another SP that will be expected to be in the front part of the rotation.
  12. It was well played.
  13. The training/health aspect of this team isn't exactly covering itself in glory so far this season.
  14. Just kind of eyeballing the 84 team, it looks like Hernandez and Lopez accounted for around 50% of the bullpen innings.
  15. The other tidbit that I like with that 1984 pitching staff is that they used only 14 pitchers as season long. Here we are 40 years later and no team can get through a month with only 14 different pitchers.
  16. Not the greatest picture, but I was at a stop sign and had someone approaching me. But this is from probably 4 miles away. I think it’s more vibrant with the cloud cover than a clear sky. So, this phenomenon has only been very recent even through the greenhouse has been around for several years. Per the website, they grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers. I know there was chuckling about it setting up operations for marijuana, too, and that very well could be the case. I don’t know, maybe they’re growing some purple haze?
  17. Have you watched them play? Its entirely believable.
  18. They were 24 of 26 from the stripe. I like that.
  19. I would think that they would want Cunningham, Ivey, Thompson, and Duren out there in crunch time now to learn the lessons that will be valuable later on.
  20. I must have missed something. Hayes, coming off of a DNP-injury the night before, gets 14 minutes. Sasser, who appears to be a better all around player with both full strength, gets 5 minutes. What are we doing here?
  21. That’s funny! I drive within a few miles of their “tomato” greenhouse in Ohio well before sunrise. Same effect down here. Thanks for posting.
  22. Take Lance Lynn off of your break in case of emergency free agent desperation lists. Or your wish list if you had him there.
  23. Cade Cunningham On Pistons: “We’re Bad,” Compete Level “Unacceptable” I'll be honest, to me it seemed more like they were completely overmatched during the game than dogging it. And you get to a point in the game where overcoming a 20 plus point deficit on the front end of a back-to-back just ain't happening and you play for tomorrow rather than today. But if Cunningham wants to call them out, hey, have at it.
