  1. I’d sacrifice a run for the double play here.
  2. Wentz has been good so far. Not a good start to the inning. But they need innings. Drat.
  3. I don’t mind sending him there. Not a lot of offense so far, take the chance and force Minnesota to make the play flawlessly (or close to it). None of the angles that were shown seemed to overturn a ruling either way. I know the coaching staff needs to make a decision quickly. Maybe they were more hopeful than convinced.
  4. Is this a psychological move? It doesn’t seem to be a wise public comment to make after Duren’s rookie season. Top ten seems awfully lofty.
  5. Brendan White did his work well, but I wonder if he is sent down for a well rest arm just for the sake of innings before the weekend is up. He's probably got another 1 or 2 IP today. And let's be honest, with Wentz starting today, the arm barn shan't be a restful place.
  6. At the same time, when the pitching allows only 1 leadoff home run to score and spreads out & strands 6 other hits, 1 walk, to go with 10 strikeouts, and the defense handles its chores well (of course Baez dive and flip from his knees for an out gets the eyeballs, but plays such as Holton completing the double play with great feetwork at 1B after crisp throws from Torkelson & Baez), the game needs to be taken.
  7. Son'ofabitch, I had that same dream!
  8. That's Bobo Newsome for those that don't know. His collection of personnel game worn jerseys would be awesome if it existed. That's right. Buck dropped double noughts on his back. Twice.

  10. Ibanez or Schoop out, Lipcius in seems like an easy swap. Dingler to Toledo, sure, makes sense. Its not like Dingler taking time from Sands is a poor choice. Heck, it seems doubtful that Haase/Rogers/Sands will all be held over to next season. Promote Dingler, see if he's got the chops.
  11. There's the exchange of talent for talent, but Williamson is just never available. How does a coaching staff create an offense/defense when they don't know if its best talent is going to be a part of it? Obviously if health isn't an issue, he becomes the focal point of the offense, its running through him. If he's not there, scrap that strategy and start over, but go back to it if/when he's ready to go?
  12. Yes, that's part of the problem. The trouble comes quickly. I guess at that point, its a 2 run lead, so try to lock that game down. If its a 2 run deficit, if its a 4-2 game and the offense is lacking, I might send Boyd out there. Innings pitched are pretty valuable right now.
  13. Did he have any word on either you or Lebron (or both) playing for the Mavs?
  14. These are the stats that make me not want Williamson.
  15. I don't want anything to do with Zion WIlliamson. He can be some other team's problem.
  16. Plus, he isn't tying up a roster spot. He's on the 60 day IL, so if they happened to find some reason to add someone to the 40 man roster right now, Meadows wouldn't be blocking that theoretical player.
  17. Take out one inning, and its a good start by Boyd. It'd have been great to use him for another inning (only 84 pitches) given the current pitching staff situation, but how do you trust him for another inning? Sending him out for the 6th was probably more necessity than it was decision.
  18. Maybe Chafin overestimated his value or the market underestimated his value, and at some point he just decided Arizona's deal was the best that he was going to get? And by deal, I'm talking the combination of salary, team, role, off field, etc, with differing weights to each of those variables, with those weights ebbing and flowing in importance throughout his free agency.
  19. I think this is a different version of handball than you’re referring to, but during early COVID, I found some European team handball tournament from 2019 on TV. That’s great fun to watch, a blend of basketball, soccer, maybe hockey. It’s an Olympic sport, but it doesn’t get any airtime.
