  1. I kind'of got sucked into weather porn tonight. Dry as a bone at the CasimirDome, but points north and east, particularly along the lake shore, got hammered. Sounds like a few tornadoes touched down. Its been a while since the weather was like this. I really don't recall the last thunderstorm I've been in.
  2. Oh, wait. The game that I didn’t think existed is in Minnesota tonight. The struggle today is real.
  3. Radar doesn’t look happy up there.
  4. He had a great college career even if cut short a bit by COVID. But once college ended, he was done for 2020. Zipped through the minors with no hint of struggle in 2021. He looked ready for the part. At least based on the results lines. But then struggles in 2022, and I would suggest he wasn’t what he probably should have been in Toledo when he was sent down for a tune up. And keep in mind the team wide the Tigers suffered last season, too. Probably not the most ideal environment for a rookie, even a highly touted prospect. It’s probably the first time he’s been through something like that on a baseball field. He’s got stuff to work on. Hopefully he powers through them and becomes the cornerstone that we hoped he’d be when he was drafted.
  5. Now that you mention it, the polo shirts were looking a bit faded.
  6. Yup. And the the thing with the draft is that there is such a high degree of crapshoot and the time lag to the MLB level payoff of drafting & developing. Heck, Torkelson probably got rushed up and now there are some that think he's a bust after fewer than 700 PAs and before the age of 24.
  7. There's not much Harris can do about the recent history that he walked into except for put a reasonable product on the field. It doesn't have to be a playoff team (yet). Just put something out there that resembles a reasonably competitive team.
  8. Happy for his promotion, but bittersweet to lose him down here.
  9. Small sample size, obviously. Rogers' SLG rises with his pulse.
  10. Its only one data point, but there were pickeball courts installed about a year ago in a park along one of the bike trails I use. 7 or 9 of them, I can't remember how many. I rode by one day, and they were all in use. I was astounded. Came back about 75 minutes later and there was still a gathering there. Now, they're not always being used. I don't know if it was a league or maybe it was a group function or something like that. But it does seem like they are popping up all over. There are 2 courts in a senior living community along the bike path in the other direction. Its common to hear the sound of the racquet and ball as I go by. Not every time, but frequent nonetheless.
  11. That's probably worth a try. Maton probably needs a reset. Lipcius isn't tearing the cover off of the ball, but he's on the 40 and he's 25, so might as well get a glimpse under the good lights. Or just recall Solak whenever he is eligible to come back up.
  12. The Tigers are 0-8 in games that Rogers hits a HR. I hate that statistic.
  13. Today is parade.
  14. For some reason I thought the 15th was an off day. I sure hope the Tigers have a better schedule than I do.
  15. Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins Watch: Twins - Bally Sports North, Tigers - Bally Sports Detroit Listen: Twins - TIBN, WCCO 830, The Wolf 102.9 FM, Audacy, Tigers - 97.1 The Ticket
  16. I didn’t notice it before, but look at that hat. One of the features of ball cards of that era was primitive photoshopping (before basic photoshopping). I’m sure given the nature of Seattle Pilots’ late move to Milwaukee, there was probably an inordinate amount of touch ups for that set.
  17. I go to a meeting and you morans allow 7 runs to be scored? You guys suck.
