Well, and there’s something I hate about our sports culture. Georgia could smoke someone in a playoff game and the team that loses will declared as “sucks”. Sucks? They’re the #4 team in the nation and will be declared as “sucks” if they lose decisively. They’ll have the 4th best resume (and I understand there is sometimes debate on this, just set it aside for now) and have the misfortune of one bad game and then be discarded as some 4th best team in the MAC West. Makes no sense.

I wouldn’t have guessed them to be undefeated still. But at some point, you gotta throw out your earlier biases and premonitions and acknowledge what they’ve accomplished. Going back to a few posts above, yes, there usually is a degree of luck involved for teams that are still undefeated at this point. But they’ve taken advantage of that luck, so kudos to them.

Maybe they’re just good this season.

TCU survives at Baylor. Some questionable play calling on its last couple of plays and sent the FG team out with the clock running and not much time to spare.

Yes, good point. This was the winnable game of the trip, especially with James out. Cunningham and Stewart are out. Have to imagine Diallo and Bey are at least limited. This has the makings of an 0 for 6 west coast trip. -
The ladder plays better defense than Harden.

You know, I thought that, too. But he had over 600 PAs in 2018 and 2019, over 500 PAs in 2021. Injuries in 2022, fair to call those out.
-
Yes, there was someone close to him in a red shirt. 76ers’ employee? It seems like there would have been a Bucks’ employee next to him. Even if he were right to be on the court, pushing down the ladder seems uncalled for.

While very true, they could use a bat of Brantley’s ilk in the lineup. I’d be fine with him as the everyday LF/DH. I wouldn’t consider Brantley a platoon player. Maybe I’d bat him lower vs LHP, but I’d be comfortable with him in the lineup vs LHP. The opposition is probably going to go to a RHP at some point during the game anyway. As you mention the LHH heavy OF, and knowing Harris’ desire for a RHH OF, it’d be nice if they could find one that can handle all 3 OF spots. Much easier said than done, but Greene and (squinting) Baddoo are the only CFs currently on the 40. Granted, it’s only mid November, but there’s room for depth there.

I agree with your flyer idea, and who knows, maybe Cisnero is on the bubble for that type of transaction.

I wonder what the protocol is for road teams and arena personnel after the game? The Sixers play at home against Minnesota tonight (the night after), so would they be removing the basket overnight?

Well, and in the short term, how many games will Diallo be out? I thought he might have swallowed his tooth when he hit the floor. -

I think its kind of obvious that there would be plenty of losses to begin with. This just enhances the odds. I'll be honest, unless in the end the Pistons pull another top overall pick, this just sucks. I'd prefer to have had Ivey and Cunningham develop together. -
Maybe. I'm just not as impressed with Cisnero as what other folks seem to be. The walk rate has always been high with the exception of 2020. I wouldn't say the mirage is the same as Soto, but its in that direction.
-
I can see Myers. RHH OF, insurance at 1B. That's probably the kind of short term contract for a player trying to bounce back that seems likely. Brantley is a darn good LHH bat. It would seem like he could find better opportunities elsewhere, but who knows.

Our friends and families can only hope so.

It doesn't seem like there are a lot of fish in the free agent pond. There are some big ones out there. But it doesn't seem like non tendering Candelario and some others are the difference in whether or not to play in free agency. Maybe they can extract a league average position player on an above league average contract along with some legit prospect(s) from a team that has a shorter term deal that they'd like to move. Anthony Rendon was mentioned somewheres around here. That contract is probably too rich/long to take on, and I don't fully know what his injury deal has been the last two seasons. But I think looking at his stats, there's reason to believe that of he can regain his health, he'll bounce back as a player. In spite of his summary production the last couple of seasons, he's been a guy that has maintained his control of the strike zone while BABIP (and health) have been his enemy. Heck, given the acquisition of Urshela, maybe the Angels would consider holding onto some of the Rendon salary liability and kick in some futures just to move him out of town?

Well, now this is ridiculous. We haven't had a Tiger game thread to throw our anguish around in months. The days are getting shorter. The weather is getting colder. Our families and friends are sick of the extra exposure to us that we would normally be devoting to the Tigers during the regular season. Time to relax? Balderdash. Now is the time of our discontent.

That's a probability.

That's a possibility.

And around a year ago at this time, there was a lot of chatter in favor of Kreidler as the starting SS.

Not sure why Cisnero was kept. Seems a waste of a roster spot. I would’ve placed more value on Candelario and CastroW than Cisnero. But I’m an idiot, so there’s that. Short seems an odd keep, too.
-
Well, there isn’t any reason to toss money at FA 3Bdudes. Gio Urshela was traded today. That’s another 3Bdude off of the (trade) market.
-
We know what they’ve shown, and given other options, I can see the rationale to keep them. We know what they’ve shown, and the front office might see other players to pursue and/or they simply don’t think these players will be worth retaining. I guess we’ll find out sometime today which way the wind is blowing.
-
I can understand going either way on Candelario. Same for CastroW, same for Alexander.
