  1. I don’t see the issue with replacing Texas A&M in the bowl game. Why make Wake Forest skip out on a bowl game after the season that they’ve had? Why make the fans looking for a vacation skip out on it? I agree, I think there are too many bowl games. But I simply watch the ones that I want to and avoid the ones that I don’t, and I seem to manage just fine. Ultimately they’re all exhibitions anyway and only 4 teams go to the playoffs. If other people want to watch these other bowl games, what do I care?
  2. Look at the size of those horse pills. Coincidence?
  3. Still waiting for Aaron Rodgers' math on population.
  4. This seems like an indication that he might need to enter concussion protocol. Also, at some point everybody has to stop kissing his ass, right? No more commercials, no more Jeopardy, things like that probably start to slow down because he's becoming a bit to polarizing for the wrong reasons, right?
  5. "We ask for privacy as we work through this privately." Sure, OK. What are his policies on marriage? And is he just trying to get a few marriages out of the way in order to get to his 4th so that he can match the current god of the GOP?
  6. I don't know. Is he a finished product with the glove? I doubt it. In his defense, we don't know what the arrangement of his team is with the other infielders and other major league teams. There might not be an official working relationship with MLB and this league, but there could be some playing situations/promises made with various teams, couldn't there?
  7. So,....... how does one handle the 2021 Gator Bowl swag featuring Texas A&M? Rutgers to fill Texas A&M's spot in Gator Bowl after COVID-19 issues force Aggies to withdraw, per report
  8. They might be available for less than that if the negotiations go long into February.
  9. You are presumably smart enough to realize that seat belts don't prevent all traffic accident death, yet probably save a significant number of lives/injuries if used correctly, right?
  10. I think Cameron has an option left, but I could be wrong about that. I'm jumping off of the Paredes bandwagon after seeing how out of shape he looked in winter ball.
  11. I sat down to watch this game. I was in my recliner in the family room, I was tired, I wasn't moving. The rest of the family wanted to watch Elf, of course, on the TV in the family room. So I lost the TV, but I was also not subjected to viewing the loss, so I guess I won. Augmon was never the same after his turn in teal.
  12. I'm not sure we know what to expect out of the budget for 2022, or what kind of signings will occur once the CBA is finalized. I don't know what kind of budget the Tigers had to being with. I would prioritize another SP ahead of an OF, I think there is still a need in the rotation. Cots has the Tigers at $116.3M for 2022 (and they also use the correct old English D), and bbref has them at $115.1M. I question Meyers' defense, but I think his bat would be helpful. Grossman had a career type season, Baddoo had a nice rookie season, Hill has a great glove when healthy, and there are high hopes for Greene. But its not a stacked OF by any means. I understand the hesitation at first, but this isn't going to be a typical offseason. If there is a short window in between the CBA and spring training, I think there could be a lot of short term deals signed, and possibly some bargains that the Tigers could take advantage of. That's probably the best route to adding another OF (if needed). But I wouldn't shut out San Diego's desire to move Myers just yet. They might feel pressure to move him, and if its a short window of opportunity to do so, the level of prospect attached to Meyers might need to be improved. And regardless of who is on the major league team now, there's always room for more prospects in the minor leagues.
  13. I would entertain thoughts about Wil Meyers. He's expensive at $22.5M for 2022, and there is a $20M team option for 2023 with a $1M buyout. But he's a RHH OF bat, which I think could be helpful to balance out Baddoo and Greene in the outfield (with the RH bat and with the experience), and could reasonably play everyday if necessary. Hosmer is due $21M in 2022 and can opt out after that. But if not, he's on the books for 3 more seasons at $13M per. This seems to be an unlikely fit given Torkelson at 1B and Candelario at 3B (if Torkelson at 3B is still an option). Candelario is under control through 2023 and I would guess is projecting an extension is a toss up at this point. I would think the prospect return would be higher with Hosmer, but I'm just not sure where he would fit 2023-2025.
  14. Look at those numbers on the way up in the minors. Those walk numbers, the OPS. There was reason for optimism just perusing numerals.
  15. Yes, it was 38 straight games on the coast. Nobody ever mentions that part of it.
  16. Swepted in Seattle. I vividly remember an Ms fan jumping on the roof of the Tiger dugout with a broom and sweeping the Tigers right after the final out of the series.
  17. Yes, I hate west coast swings, too. Seems an extra drag to start the season out there. I remember the days of long, long ago, trips to the west coast meant 3 straight series at California, Oakland, and Seattle. Some combination of Texas, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Chicago made up the other trips to the west division foes. And twice a season, too. And you’ve heard of the Ernie faux pas of Bill Freehan beating his meat late one night in California, right?
  18. Only 3 off days in April and 2 in May. Season starts out west with 4 in Seattle and 3 in Oakland.
