  1. It seems like he’s been around forever, but he doesn’t look that old.
  2. One of my favorite bits of trivia about Fryman is that his slash line was essentially the same in Detroit and Cleveland. .274/.334/.444 for the good guys, .275/.339/.440 for the other team.
  3. Hell, I’d vote for Buddha given those two options.
  4. Big League Chew was the stuff. But that was out of our price range, so we got stuck with Bubbalicious or something like that.
  5. One of the few things worse than the gum that was in a pack of cards.
  6. Not only that, but guys like Monroe, Stephenson, and Langston Galloway are with their 2nd NBA teams this season. Heck, remember when Joe Johnson went to training camp with the Pistons a season or two ago fresh off of the Big3? He played a few minutes for Boston and got a basket.
  7. I suspect they ramp up before and there will be a vote around the time of the SB. That way a bad result can be swept under the rug of the SB.
  8. What are the surounding districts like? My wife teaches in a neighboring district that shares a border with the one our kids go to. Its amazing how different/similar that they can be given any specific variable.
  9. While we're in the public confessional, I cannot operate the calculator on my phone worth a diddly pooh. I had one of those watches with a calculator and 16 or so buttons on it when I was a kid that I probably used with more adroitly than I can with my iphone.
  10. It sounds like Chicago is an extreme situation, or maybe, a culture out on an extreme wing off to the side of the neighborhood of normal with multiple examples to be used as proof.
  11. I don't know if you've noticed, but some of them ain't gonna be taught nothin'.
  12. Oh, I’m not saying my oldest got the same out of remote as if she were in person. But it was fine for two months in a pandemic where there was no vaccine or cure at the time.
  13. This kind of cements what a lot of folks think about Manfred, doesn't it? Dan Patrick has talked about his dealings with David Stern and Bud Selig. Now, he never worked for either in an official capacity/hierarchy like Rosenthal's situation (as indirect as it is). But he's mentioned that Selig would routinely listen to him while scarfing down a hot dog and a Coke from a hot dog cart outside and challenge Patrick's opinions would Selig felt appropriate. Stern would also go head-to-head with Patrick on air on certain issues. Sometimes these debates were on air and there was good back and forth.
  14. I would say the younger the student, the less effective remote learning would be. I altered my work schedule and worked remotely last year from November through a week or two into January last year when the kids' district went on full remote. The eldest (8th grade) would have been fine for the most part, their online schedules were pretty active. The youngest (4th grade), nope, no way. I can't imagine kindergarten being full remote.
  15. Detroit Pistons (7-28) vs Charlotte Hornets (19-19)
  16. MLB Radio on Sirius must only be affiliated and not owned by MLB. Or the ex players on air just don't give a rip about any backlash for openly rooting for the players.
  17. This is bizarre to me. San Francisco is the 6th seed but hasn't secured a playoff spot. Philadelphia is the 7th seed and has their spot locked up. Now, I'm sure it has something to do with tiebreakers and somehow New Orleans beats San Francisco on a tiebreaker at some point if they tie at 9-8, but it just looks odd at a glance.
  18. Am I the only one that finds it odd that no one tells Rogers to shut up & dribble?
