Good to see them fight back and make a game of it, but just not good enough tonight. Some sloppy play, especially early on, that winds up costing them in the end. -

It was speculated that his right knee was the culprit based on his reaction, but it never appeared that he really hit it against anything or tweaked it out of place or anything like that when he hit the barrier. I don't recall anything with his foot, but I was looking at the knees to see if there was anything to see. The fact that he went right to the locker room on his meant was a bit worrisome. Well, so much for getting the front line back together again. -

I kind of suspected Bey would be the starter most likely moved to the bench if a change were made. -

Oh heck, this is fun. Charles Jones and all three of his NBA playing brothers Caldwell, Major, and Wil played at Albany State University, although not at the same time. Don’t believe me? Look it up yourself. -

Shout out to 165th overall pick Charles Jones for carving out a 15 year career and making over $3M doing so. -
A while ago, maybe, I don’t know, 10some plus years ago, Calcaterra did a weekly spot on local radio, just a 10-15 minute deal. I never found him to be arrogant and know it all, although he could be a bit more so in print from time to time. The local sports show is long gone, and I know he was moved on from NBC some time after. Haven’t followed him much at all since.

I guess I never knew (or had completely forgotten) Kelser was the other side of the trade for Vinnie Johnson. -

It might not look likely, but some of what has happened this season ain't been likely either. USC's loss is by 1 point at Utah. That's not exactly shameful. If they can put some convincing wins up against UCLA & Notre Dame, and then win the PAC championship over Utah (providing they beat Oregon next weekend). If UoM vs OSU is a runaway one way or the other, that could eliminate one team there. Plus, remember, numerous pundits here have forecasted TCU to lose multiple games yet, so that's going to happen as planned, right? I think the first one was supposed to be last night. Oh, wait......, ooooops. The top 4 this week will be Georgia at 1 and then some combination of Michigan, Ohio State, and TCU to fill out 2 through 4 in some order. Tennessee and USC lurk in some order of 5/6. The only thing that we know for sure is that Michigan at OSU will be a result to possibly shuffle things around assuming they both win next weekend.

This team could use all of the above. Although, unfortunately, they seem well stocked with plenty of players who “could” rebound from poor performance.

Well, I would certainly hope Ilitch would prefer to see a winner next season. And clearly he wanted someone else in charge. It’d be fun to know what the directives are that he’s laid down for Harris. It’s all speculation to us.

I don’t know about you morans, but I’d be aight if none of those 7 were with the club starting next season.

Give it to Michigan. I’ve heard they’re champions of the west.

Neither seem like a fit despite their offense being welcomed. I think its reasonable to assume both Bell and Abreu are going to get multiseason deals. Torkelson is the 1Bman of the future. They have Cabrera on the books next season as the DH, although its highly questionable how much he plays. So, 1B & DH are probably kind of filled for next season unless Harris has Torkelson at Toledo to start the season and/or he's ready to move on from Cabrera. Now, who knows, maybe Harris decides to strip the place down to the foundation and completely overhaul things. Maybe he has no problem writing off Cabrera's contract and he can convince Ilitch of it. Harris has no prior allegiance to Cabrera, so that's possible if not likely. Maybe he thinks he can move Torkelson's prospect status to another team that isn't shaken by a poor rookie campaign. Seems highly doubtful, but you never know. Here's what we know about Harris. We know what he's said in his pressers, we know what team's he's been associated with and what those teams did. We don't know how much of that translates exactly into what he sees and what he can accomplish this offseason. The unknown is a major factor for the Tigers this offseason, and I think that makes things pretty interesting. Now maybe this offseason becomes less about player acquisition and more about getting the front office, specifically evaluation and development systems, into what he wants it to be. There have been some of those moves already. So, that might make for what fans consider a lackluster offseason, but I don't think it would necessarily be a wasted offseason.

Just going back to this, it seems a missed opportunity to go to an alt red jersey which I thought there was some support for. Maybe I'm projecting my own opinion, maybe that was a popular sentiment around this forum, but I thought the reds last year were well accepted (teal and electric bolt aside). The storyline of St. Cecelia's and NBA players going there is cool. I don't know if the green is related to that or not. If so, they could have probably tied that into the Pistons' primary blue & red in some other way.

Can anyone tell me the significance of this?

I saw that. So, the top 50 free agents, and 4 guys picking where those 50 go, so the math is 200 possibilities. An even distribution among the 30 teams would 6 or 7 players? That's about what these 4 encompass players for the guesses that include the Tigers. I understand the desire for starters, so OK, those guys make sense. Profar is questionable. He doesn't necessarily hit LHPs (or RHPs for that matter) well, which is one of the things Harris mentioned. His recent and career SO% and BB% are favorable to MLB averages, but exit velocity and hard hit rates are not. He had been used around the field earlier in his career, but he was solely a LF last season. OK, story time on Taillon. We were at this game that Taillon pitched and he took a line drive off of his nugget that landed in LF. After a few moments channeling his inner Doug Fister, he convinced the Pirates that he was fine, and he stayed in the game. I'd probably still be weeping in a fetal position on the ground if that were me. We were in the RF stands where they cut around RCF. We had a perfect view of Harrion's triple to CF and of the relay throw to 3B being airmailed into the dugout to score him.

Some of those are really sharp. I really like the Titans, Saints, Cowboys, and Buccaneers.
