They are a bit of a trip hazard. But since the Tigers are rarely on base to trip over them,…. ah, never mind. -

Hat tip to Ward on that throw. I think it was a good risk to tag. It took a perfect throw to get Greene there. -

Riley Greene with another sprawling diving catch in CF, this one to save a run and end the inning. Ho hum. -

I forget exactly what the DH rule is for two way players. But scanning through box scores, it looks like Ohtani has remained as DH even when pulled early as a SP. I guess I also didn’t realize that he hasn’t not played OF at all this season. Strictly P and/or DH. -
This sound reasonable. Add in the fact that he’s not a highly rated prospect. Some random call up is probably worth going two pitches deep on. Save the third/fourth for other established hitters. On the flip side, I would think opposing pitchers go after someone like Torkleson as though they aren’t a rookie. It’s not to say that’s why Torkleson has struggled.

Well, bless his heart.

Yes, that's where I'm at. I don't think he's as special as last season might indicate and I don't think he's awful as this season might indicate. If he were to remain as manager next season, OK, fine. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up to the GM role since he has some front office experience. I would not expect him to be fired after this season, save for a GM hire along the lines of someone like Theo Epstein or Billy Beane and that person wanted to bring someone else as manager. Its possibly, but I highly doubt that happens. However the GM role works out, I would expect Hinch to remain in the organization in some capacity for next season. -
Could it be that bridging from the 2021 season to expectations for 2022 ignored that there might have been a bunch of good luck buried in the 2021 results?

My comment above was derived from a "thought" that was posted a few days/weeks ago that specifically mentioned "everyone" being in favor of Hinch as manager. That simply isn't the case. Sure, the team overachieved last season. But they are underachieving this season. So, its fine to gloss him up for last season but not be critical of him for this season? As far as resting Baddoo vs LHPs, in particular this weekend, I have not problem with that. Like buddha said, he's played about a week straight. He's been 9/28 (all singles) with 2 BB and 10 SO. Not exactly a bat that's on fire, nor is the power there lately. Certainly a good streak considering where his season has been. But the Tigers have faced a couple of LHPs. He was going to get at least one of those games off, and rightfully so. But forgetting him as an individual and looking at the team as a whole, Haase had been hitting as well as anyone lately (he's cooled a bit in August). It was a day game after a night game that he caught. As was mentioned, a LHP was starting. DHing him rather than having him play LF (which, I don't think he's played LF in a while now that I think about it), made sense, especially when you consider Cabrera needs time off now and again because he's not healthy, but they won't IL him. -

Remember when everyone was all slobbery over him last season? -
I pronounce it “cold-bats”.

We were all so young and innocent then.

My daughter uses my mom's clarinet from her high school marching band days. Mom would've been at every performance if she could. In a way, she's there at every practice and performance.

I can understand what you are saying about not having any excitement. I ignored OSU during Urban Meyer's last season, and the boycott kind of carried over to most college football content.

She is a sophomore, so we've run the annual gamut once already. It's OK, that's her bag, she enjoys it, the program is a very good one, I'm all in. I never paid attention to bands before, but it obviously changes when you have a rooting interest, so to speak. They had around 120-130 kids last year, and it looks to be the same this year. The stands didn't necessarily empty at halftime last night, and that seems pretty typical from our experience. #bandparent

Surprising that they make enough contact for that. -
Those will be the 2023-2024 alternates.

Los Angeles Angels (52-67) at Detroit Tigers (45-76) (That's Bob Sprout. He was a 1961 expansion draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels. He was the first Detroit Tiger selected by the Angels, the third Tiger selected, and the ninth player drafted overall. This is the only MLB game he ever appeared in. Enjoy today's game.)

I’m surprised Peralta was let go, too, but I guess they had to let someone go, and somehow no one is ready to be added the injured list.
