  1. She is a sophomore, so we've run the annual gamut once already. It's OK, that's her bag, she enjoys it, the program is a very good one, I'm all in. I never paid attention to bands before, but it obviously changes when you have a rooting interest, so to speak. They had around 120-130 kids last year, and it looks to be the same this year. The stands didn't necessarily empty at halftime last night, and that seems pretty typical from our experience. #bandparent
  2. Surprising that they make enough contact for that.
  3. Those will be the 2023-2024 alternates.
  4. Los Angeles Angels (52-67) at Detroit Tigers (45-76) (That's Bob Sprout. He was a 1961 expansion draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels. He was the first Detroit Tiger selected by the Angels, the third Tiger selected, and the ninth player drafted overall. This is the only MLB game he ever appeared in. Enjoy today's game.)
  5. I’m surprised Peralta was let go, too, but I guess they had to let someone go, and somehow no one is ready to be added the injured list.
  6. It’s high school band marching season in Ohio starting tonight (and they let the football team play at some of their performances, too). My oldest is a starting clarinetist. Can’t wait to see them entering the football field tonight.
  7. There was a group of 12 people at work yesterday and one was chest puffy about Cleveland beating Detroit on Wednesday. I turned and looked at him and said, “Look around, if we can get 100 pitches thrown around the plate tonight, we could beat the Tigers.”
  8. Yeah, but if his Achilles continue to have long haul vertigo….
  9. If only there were some teal horse heads on those….
  10. Personally, I wouldn't rule it out that Hinch becomes the new GM and forgoes his on field responsibilities.
  11. He might fall up to 3rd by season's end.
  12. Just make sure Ernie knows where you're from. That way if you catch a foul fly ball, he can let folks know where you're from.
  13. I was thinking of this a bit the other day. Last season's team (.475 winning percentage) overachieved. This season's team (.375) has underachieved. Split the difference, call it a .425 team (around a 68-94 season record) over the past two seasons. Fair enough?
  14. Los Angeles Angels (51-67) at Detroit Tigers (45-75)
  15. Buck Reyes cementing his 2023 roster spot.
  16. Possibly. It does seem a bit silly with Detroit vs Indiana, though.
  17. For whatever reason, my mind's voice reads this in a Dan Dickerson voice.
  18. Sure. Dombrowski, Leyland, Anderson,.... all retreads.
  19. They have back to back home games vs Atlanta early in the season and back to back home games vs Indiana later in the season. A back to back home/road with Philadelphia in the middle of the season. We’ve seen the home/roads before. I’m not sure I remember the back to backs against the same opponent in the same city.
  20. With CastroW’s 5th home run of the year, Cabrera is now 8th on the team in home runs with 4.
  21. Not a quality start for Norris. An effectively wild start. Where is the EW column on baseball reference?
  22. Another pitcher injury?!
  23. I happened across a person wearing a red Expos hat today. Sacre rouge! Allez les Expos de l’equipe de baseball de Montreal!
