  1. Oh goody, Grossman starts and Baddoo sits. It would seem to make more sense to send Baddoo to play everyday rather than sit the bench in Detroit. Or maybe Toronto plans to have Berrios pitch left handed today.
  2. They seem likelier for the Tigers to want to trade because of contracts. But to Edman’s point, they need to move whoever they can that makes sense as far as the return is concerned. I don’t care about Soto’s or anyone else’s team contract control. Obviously they can negotiate up the player value because of that variable. But as flukey as relief pitchers can be from season to season, especially if they happen to be getting worthwhile position players or starting pitching in return, make the trade.
  3. Yes, under.
  4. It seems odd to me that the B12 might have a sliver of a chance if they pull in the 4 four corner colleges from the P12, at least that theory exists out there. Heck, that might be their only chance at not dissolving unless they grab ND, but that seems like having only one WR, and a 5'2" one at that, available for a Hail Mary from about 80 yards out. We're not going to recognize college sports in 5 years.
  5. Detroit Tigers (41-61) at Toronto Blue Jays (56-45)
  6. So, yeah, John Law gave up 4 in an inning. The Tigers got the best start that they could have hoped for out of Hutchison. He got pulled when he should have, and the only reason to keep him for a 3rd trip at that point would have been an absolutely decimated relief corps. But the Tigers mustered only 3 runs again. 10 hits, all singles aside from 2 doubles, and 2 walks. Struck out 10 times. The strikeouts are in fashion, but the cool kids also hit for power.
  7. Dude should be punished. Send him to a losing team.
  8. Hurlin’ Harold wasn’t available?
  9. Angel De Jesus is wearing jersey number 62? It’s nice to see Al Albuquerque gave him his blessing.
  10. Bo has put on a few. Ain’t no way he’s crawling in and out of a car window or sliding across the hood.
  11. You know, with the trade deadline and the Tigers having RPs to offer and the SPs bing in shambles, it is kind of difficult to maneuver through this weekend without risking injury to trade chips.
  12. The Tigers have done a good job today getting runners on base with less than two outs. Dare I say they ain’t out of it yet? Yes, I dare say so.
  13. Well, they were going to be facing the top of the Toronto order twice yet. I agree, though, it’s best to get outs now and worry about later on later on.
  14. He did feature a nice mix of crap and meatball.
  15. Did Fetter run out of magic pixy dust today?
  16. With all due respect (which would be zero), you suck, sir.
  17. Law has not brought order in this appearance.
  18. Tigers are showcasing him for trade maybe?
  19. This bottom half of the 6th kind’of sucks so far.
  20. Tigers take the lead and Clutchison shuts Toronto down 1-2-3 in the next half inning. Alright, let’s pray for rain now.
  21. Chapman got something out of nothing there. It was a fortunate ricochet and he took advantage.
  22. Reyes slashes a single to LF and defeats the shift. Baez gets bat on ball and singles to LF. 1st & 2nd with none out. Cabera grounds into the 6-4-3. Tigers threaten but do not score. Drink.
  23. This franchise doesn’t need to keep Fetters to make its fans drink.
  24. PAC10 commish wasn’t shy about talking down to the Big 12 at the PAC10 junket. I don’t think there will be any kind of deal in place between the two to help each other’s survival. One will take some from the other and that will be it. I’m just not sure which way it will go, but most assuredly it will come down to which entity TV dollars prefer.
