Nice play by Torkleson on the Andrus bunt. -
Hey, Cabrera makes the most money around there. Maybe he should make the decision?

I don’t know that they should have a heavy influence. Why should they? With all due respect to Horton and his legacy with the city and fan base, I would think his employment is more ceremonial than operational. There’s absolutely nothing working with that at all. It’s good to see someone of his stature associated with the team. it just doesn’t mean that he should sign off on the next GM before it’s official. As for Leyland, is he still doing some scouting around the minors and Pittsburgh? He might have some connections through that, but again, is he in the know enough to contribute anything to this search? Bottom line is this, just because someone has had favorable history with the club doesn’t mean they’re in a position to advise on the future of the club. In fact, it might be beneficial to network with other clubs to get an idea of opinions about potential candidates.

I don't understand why people assume CI's motivation or his interest level in the Tigers. MI was the owner through some awfully bad seasons before he finally got rid of Randy Smith, yet for whatever reason, that gets ignored when some folks talk about CI not being the passionate owner that MI was. Heck, I think there was a stretch during MI's ownership where the Tigers had its worst length of time (per winning percentage) for some accumulated seasons in a row. But it clearly goes without saying, CI is going to have hit a home run with this next hire. Worst team in baseball over the last 7 seasons and all of the spoils that come with that through the draft haven't been realized in terms of a farm system that's bursting with talent. If they want to use Hinch's network of baseball relationships, that's fine. Who does he know from the Dodgers, Astros, Cardinals, Braves that can get this team in the right direction? And not just from the capacity of the GM. Take a look at scouting, analytics, and development.

Went to Vegas twice. Never made a wager on a game. Kind of wish I had just to say that I did. On the other hand, the one that I considered betting I would have ended up losing, so there's that.

I'll say it...... its time to mix some waters into your current hydration program.

4. Venmo to Casimir - Just whatever you find to be your allowable disposable funds. I'm not too picky with the amount.

Cameron's chances with the Tigers are 0% He's closer to his 26th birthday than his 25th birthday and couldn't hit well enough in AAA to bump his RH bat into the LH heavy OF when rosters expanded. He couldn't replace Kody Clemens on the active roster and Clemens is almost as likely to pitch in the 9th inning as he is to be hitting in the 9th inning on any given day. Hmmm..... I wonder if Vegas would take that Clemens prop bet? -

He used to look up to Nolan Ryan. I would love to know what Ryan's thoughts are about Verander. -

It was elementary with Reyes at the plate. Can't spell victory without Victor. -

I don't know what's going in with the hitting. A lot of the characters this season (3.3 runs/game) are the same as last year (4.3 runs/game), and we're talking players and coaches. We've gone over the ins & outs of the Tiger roster from last to this season, no need to rehash. Run scoring across the league is down a bit (4.5 last season to 4.3 this season), which is kind of interesting giving the addition of the DH in the NL. Maybe that's in part to the deadened ball. Maybe teams are increasingly using shifts. Maybe pitching has just been getting better than hitting league wide. Probably a combination of a lot of things that other teams are seeing across the league. Snarkily, sure, the Tigers are bringing that down a bit by themselves, but we know one team cannot move that measure much. They've showed Haase making an adjustment with his stance this season which has kind of coincided with his about face in performance. Essentially his stance is wider and his front foot doesn't lift as high at the beginning of his swing. -

A Yankee jersey? Really? -
You saw the east/west leg. They added additional lanes in either direction in between the 23 split just north of Central Avenue and have 3rd lanes in either direction until Airport Highway. They should have just extended to at least US 24 (Maumee River). They'll probably need to add an additional lane on the other side of the river at some point. Sylvania and/or Monroe the length of Toledo? Yuck. And certainly you weren't the only one doing that.

Advantage Kelly, with the deciding factor being grit, which is noticeably missing from the above metrics.

Bad assumption. They're adding another interchange (which is probably needed) and finally expanding the 3rd lane in each direction between the current 3rd lane (which was just recently added with another badly needed interchange west of Toledo proper) and the Maumee River. The current two lanes are clogged, clogged, clogged during afternoon rush hour.

My work commute is primarily one lane (each direction) county roads at off peak hours. This discussion reminds me that that ain't necessarily a bad thing.

Ah, here's a wrinkle in all of this. Who knows what baseball will be like next season? Deader? Livelier? Same? Would hope it would be the same given the other variable changes to game play (shift rules, pitch clock), but who knows what it will be like.
