  1. Everybody is pitching to everybody else like they're Ted Williams.
  2. Or they could draft & develop a strong system such that one graduate doesn't spiral the minor system to the bottom third.
  3. You're not the only one wondering this.
  4. Detroit Tigers (42-63) at Minnesota Twins (54-49)
  5. Is Gipson-Long someone that is going to be drafted in the rule 5? Just looking at his age and stats, it seems a little far fetched. Although, who knows, maybe Avila will draft him. I may be wrong, I don’t know, but if this is all the Tigers could get for Fulmer, just keep Fulmer. Don’t allow teams to bully you down to absolute nothingness as a return. Don’t perpetuate the notion that you’ll cave in for anything at the last minute.
  6. If we're going this route, shouldn't it be "hot and ready" rather than "gin and tonic"? Do they still do the hot and readys?
  7. I hadn't heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me. It was only $5M for the season, so, what, about 1/3 of that remaining?
  8. Fun fact: Eric Hosmer's .272/.336/.391 would pretty much solidify him as the best bat in the 2022 Tiger lineup. Plus, he might have the glove required to tame Javy Baez's erratic hurls to 1B.
  9. Careful what you wish for. You could be a chicken.
  10. Avila surprisingly managed to trade away Grossman. Maybe he's just tired from that heavy lifting?
  11. I would like the 1 in 12 to be annual thing. How do I sign up for that?
  12. Hosmer to 1B (and collect some prospects with him), Torkelson to 3B, Candelario to.... oh damnit, I thought there was some logic to what I was thinking. Foiled again.
  13. There's always free agency.
  14. Oh, San Diego,.... you could'of had Grossman for nothing.
  15. They need to find a RH OF that can hit. Cameron cannot.
  16. That looks so much better than my work station.
  17. The Tigers already have one of those for next season.
  18. Cameron doesn't have a future with the Tigers beyond playing the 2022 string out.
  19. He's a free agent after this season, so, I'm not sure he really succinctly fits into the 2023 plans at this time. And an OF flanked by JD Martinez and Austin Meadows? In Commerica Park? I know the Tigers need offense, but I'm not sure punting defense at both corners would be wise.
  20. Interesting little nugget there. Look, the fact that Avila got anything for Grossman is a minor win. Maybe the kid needs another organization to figure things out, maybe he never becomes anything anyway. Whichever way it ends up, trading away 2+ months of 2022 Grossman for a random minor leaguer is fine.
