  1. Getting some leaves on the driveway. Not sure how that factors in.
  2. Nick Punto would'of gotten that bunt down and beaten out the throw.
  3. Your father is quiet at these kinds of events. I hope he can let loose feel free to show a little emotion tonight.
  4. Nah, ain't happening that way. Its an on field win tonight. These kids are too naive to succumb to the magnitude of the moment.
  5. Might as well win today and clinch the wild card. Carpe diem, morans!
  6. Wow! OK, Parker, what you got?
  7. Not to worry. The Tigers are going to do what they need to do. Book it.
  8. He just texted me that he’s watching the replay. 😆 Heck, I ruined his nap time, I thought he’d be asleep by now.
  9. I love it. Everyone has a role on this team. Anyone not in the lineup is on alert. Heck, Vierling even played “out of position” at 1B, his first time there this season. Mize out of the bullpen. The whole of this team is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
  10. Watching Meadows run is like seeing someone running on one of those motorized walkways in an airport.
  11. Thank you for the script Dr Shades.
  12. Ah, dude, you should’of told me to wave for the picture. I’m the one in the Tiger hat. On a whim, I took my dad to the game. We hadn’t been there since 2019. He doesn’t exactly move around quite as spryly as he used to could do, so we went early to get close parking. Literally walked in shortly after the gates opened. Sat in our seats and just took in the sights and sounds and smells of the ball yard. Never really fretted anything about the game except for Alexander’s performance. The deficit really didn’t bother me. Well, actually the scoreboard bothers me because it cuts out to too many shots of fans during the game eliminating the information (lineups and stuff like that). I don’t know about you, but it seemed to me like there were quite a number of kids at the game. Some looked like school/youth groups, but a lot of parents with school aged children. I overheard the family behind us a bit, and the father kept telling his daughter “I can’t believe you wanted to go to school today”.
  13. Too late.
  14. Eh, **** ‘em.
  15. All I will say about winning the World Series is a 1 (winner) out of 12 (total playoff teams) is it is a 8.3% chance.
  16. I went to the Kenny Rogers game. So, I don't know, perhaps any frustration that I had at the Royals' game on Sunday was flushed out by that experience? The mind is a goofy thing and I don't have much to play with.
  17. It seems doubtful that the doubleheader won't have some sort of seeding implications at the least. But if there is a berth (or two) at stake), they need to figure out a way get that on national TV. As far as the playoff schedule is concerned, game 3s for all wildcard rounds are Thursday 10/05 with the NL division series having games on Saturday 10/07 and Sunday 10/08. It appears to me that the brackets are not locked and that the lower remaining seed travels to the higher seed. So its possible that team planes are on tarmacs waiting for a direction on Monday (with a game on Tuesday) and Thursday (with a game on Saturday). This might push Tuesday's AL wild cad games to both being the earlier games.
  18. I was at the last game. It was a discouraging game, it cost the Tigers the division pennant. But that aspect didn't bother me as much as how they were stumbling at the wrong time. They were in the playoffs, so division winner or wildcard, I didn't really care. They just weren't playing well.
  19. Benetti has his moments that annoy me, but nobody is going to be perfect for everyone in that role. I think he's an upgrade over Shepard. Unfortunately for Shepard, its easy for a broadcaster to take on part of the persona of the team over the course of a season. He broadcast some awful baseball. Not his calling necessarily, but the action on the field. I do feel some sympathy for him that he misses out on calling a playoff contention caliber season, and that it happens to be his first oine out of the booth.
  20. The home town season ticket holders that have gone through the several season losing streak certainly deserve to see an on field celebration.
  21. I don't feel bad for the Clippers. Its Kawhi Leonard. What did they expect?
  22. "Might as well get ready for the postseason." I mean, what else could Skubal be saying there?
  23. I mentioned this around Labor Day weekend. The 7-2 in the Orioles/Royals string of 9 games has been so huge in this run. 85-77 seemed best case back then, and now it would be a disappointment.
