  1. Hey there's Jason Heyward, still built like a marble sculpture of a Greek God. He's got a good year going, missed some time with injuries of course, and has an OPS of .857, the highest of his career. If he can sustain that to the end of the year, it will be only the second time since 2012 that he has had an OPS of over .800, and fourth time in a 14-year career. And that is just freaking amazing, how little he accomplished after his rookie performance at the age of 20.
  2. Now that you mention it, it seems like your front elbow on the bat would be more stressful.
  3. This injury could cost Malloy his chance at making the team, if Greene is ready for opening day but can only DH.
  4. That could be. According to what I just read, the Braves have the 8th highest payroll, although only $6 million higher than the Red Sox. It's the best front office in baseball.
  5. I just heard that one yesterday, the definition of "surreal" lol!
  6. You look way younger than 50.
  7. Same here, no problem.
  8. I saw a great gambling story, Kevin Pollak telling it to Rich Eisen. He said that Walter Matthau was such a committed gambler that at his funeral on the back of the paper showing the order of service were Walter's picks for the games coming up that week.
  9. That's how you do it. The owners of the bottom 10 teams are asking their GM's "why can't we be like the Braves"? And the response has been "the game has changed". Which makes those owners roll their eyes.
  10. I tried several times to learn the names of the Toledo rotation, but would always forget them immediately.
  11. I know, I'm bracing myself for the next person to tell me that "the game has changed".
  12. Yes or I want my money back.
  13. Tigers catchers who have hit 20 home runs: Lance Parrish, Matt Nokes...did Rodriguez ever hit 20?
  14. I love Jake Rogers. It seems like Harris tried to trade him to the Dodgers but man, if you offer me a catcher with top-quartile defense who hits 30 home runs in 450 AB's, then I don't care if he "controls the strike zone", he is a core player who appears in the All Star game every year if he gets the playing time that he has earned.
  15. JD still loves the opposite field.
  16. I like this Gipson-Long kid, especially after his interview a couple of days ago.
  17. The best way to cross state lines is to use those tunnels that the federal government has, the ones they use for trafficking children.
  18. I didn't notice at the time, good catch.
  19. 7 innings and 91 pitches for Skubal, back in the old days that had "complete game" written all over it. I feel like not everything from the old days is wrong by definition.
  20. I imagine that the booing has started, and the battery throwing, those have been Philly staples for decades. How about the doxxing though, how do Philly fans compare to the rest of MLB?
  21. Ha so up yours Boras
  22. Lol, good advice in 1992 when typists had suffered from the latest Kondratieff wave, the advent of a computer on every desk. Suddenly managers did not need typists. So, learning to type is just about the worst skill to acquire in 1992. Did Tarantino know that? Oh absolutely.
  23. This reminds me of the opening scene in Reservoir Dogs where the gang has finished breakfast at a restaurant and Steve Buscemi is the only one who won't leave a tip and he has the usual bull**** reasons for not leaving one. All the other hoods led by Harvey Keitel are trying to reason with him.
  24. The lighting isn't as good.
