  1. I don't regret "missing out" on any of the premium free agent signings so far. If you want to put 9 good players in the lineup you have to develop 7 of them yourself.
  2. Oh absolutely, if I can pay Baddoo and Carpenter less than a $1 million each I don't want Benintendi at $15 million. He's not even close to that value for a team that already has several mediocre LHB outfielders and I don't think he is a plus defender. Is he better than those 2 guys? At this stage, you could perhaps say yes, but is he $15 million better? Absolutely no freaking way. He's not even $8 million better. And Baddoo and Carpenter have the possibility of some upside, Benintendi doesn't. And Carpenter has some power potential which is desperately needed, and Benintendi has none. So I am glad he signed with the White Sox, I don't think that he makes them stronger.
  3. Thanks I was too lazy to look up Sale and Abreu and I forgot about Dunn. So Abreu's AAV was a bit higher but the point was that they haven't done 5 years before. I'm pretty sure that Benintendi isn't the player that I would break the mould for.
  4. Cabrera scored on a sac fly to short left this year, running Benintendi's arm all the way. No power and no arm makes him questionable value. How is it possible that 5/75 is the largest contract in Sox history? Does that just mean they haven't done 5 years before?
  5. The mullet, the chain and the eyewear seem to be screaming "douchebag".
  6. Holy Christ, Michael Lorenzen looks like the bouncer at the toughest club in town. If he doesn't make the rotation, who is going to break the news to him? Hinch? Fetters? Get serious, they won't want any part of it. I'd pick Horton, I bet he could still beat up Lorenzen if it came to that.
  7. Or even tumescence if you used to read letters to Penthouse. Is "contextualizing" a $5 word? Somebody was complaining about those a couple of days ago.
  8. He wanted to play for a contender, which is why he left the Astros.
  9. Brent Clevlen approves of this message.
  10. I think that this is correct. It's like comparing whoever plays third for $800,000 to Candelario, without knowing where they spent the money that was saved there.
  11. What? AAV too high by over $10 million is not way way off?
  12. The Giants added 3 years onto 10/270.
  13. Would he still turn down 2/70 from the Twins?
  14. LOL!! Not quite 10/375 though is it?
  15. AAV of $26.9 million looks fair but man are they going to hate that contract for the last half of it. If I'm a player I will take Lindor's contract over that one every time. He collects all his money by the time he is 37. As an owner I would prefer it too.
  16. I used to have one of those hats with the pony tail already attached to it.
  17. Oh his mom is fine. I don't like that 1980's hockey mullet though, that's got to go, I don't want to see that under the Olde English D.
  18. OK let's see some photos of his mom.
  19. No evidence at all.
  20. Ordinarily we would have seen a photo of Justyn-Henry's mom by now.
  21. Yes the title of this thread should have been "Soliloquy".
  22. That's just horrible. People like that were always out there but after 2016 it was acceptable for them to ooze out into the daylight and be proud of their stupidity.
  23. I loved that, but there was some outrage at the time.
  24. Perhaps he had some loans forgiven.
  25. That was a big drawback for those 2 guys, they sounded exactly the same.
