Dumping him is what a good team would do, a good team with competent management in the front office and on the field. As opposed to playing him every game and batting him third. Surely "building up his trade value" is not what is going on here, no one is that stupid. What is happening is that Hinch is loyal to him and thinks "I can get him going again".
