  1. What is the correct length for a boat? 3 feet longer than the one that you already have. If you are an avid cyclist, what is the correct number of bicycles to own? The answer is n+ 1, where n= the number that you currently own.
  2. Like Norm Macdonald once said: "You know, the more I learn about this Hitler fella...the less I care for him."
  3. Ha ha, I was thinking "that's about as good as it gets these days".
  4. Yes, he had 13 home runs on July 2, and now he has 15, and his 120 AB's since then have been as bad as any that the Tigers ever experienced from him. The genius Rays have him completely screwed up now. His OPS is still deceptively high in the mid 700s because he hit 8 home runs in 11 games a long long time ago. It's a shame, it looked for a moment there like he might be starting a nice career.
  5. I'd leave him. Don't let Coolbaugh near him. Start over again next spring.
  6. I don't get it either. I was content to see him getting on base couple of months ago...he wasn't blocking anyone...but that stopped a while ago. Yes he should be capable of deciding that he isn't healthy enough to play.
  7. I agree, people like that should check his game logs The past 6 weeks he might be one of the 10 worst in baseball. Even on MTS though, brief periods of success for Paredes and Grossman create a sense that it is happening "again" and that everyone needs to be fired.
  8. JD had a monster half season there but I had thought it was because the NL was such a crap league at the time. Castellanos might be a good example, a developing player who improved. Suarez too now that you mention Castellanos, but the ballpark might have had something to do with that.
  9. I'm having a hard time thinking of any ex-Tigers who performed better with their next organization. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  10. Am I just imagining this, or was there a time, years ago, when Jonathan Turley appeared to be lucid on those Sunday morning panels?
  11. Johnny B. Wockenfuss, such an important player on those resurgent teams of the late 70's and early 80's.
  12. 4 inning KO of Orta is, and then a 2 out rally in the 5th.
  13. It has calmed down but for the first year or so there were people dropping palm fronds in front of him on his way into Jerusalem.
  14. If you are so genetically inferior that you need a knee replacement you should be euthanized.
  15. Oops I was looking at the reliever. My mistake.
  16. Baddoo is on the bench against a righthander so that we can get Willi into the lineup and bat him second, him and his sub-.300 OBP.
  17. It might be a bit early to declare that Grossman has been cured. But yes the question remains, how does Coolbaugh still have a job? Is it still Avila's fault?
  18. You aren't wrong. But there is some tarnish on Fetters' tiara lately with the nonstop parade of arm injuries.
  19. Yes the perfect bullpen has sprung a few leaks, which was inevitable.
  20. I can't see how a guy whose title is "hitting coach" escapes the blame for this while "some kid from Princeton" (some old writer said that) is held accountable.
  21. My opinion is that in a 5 year window with a loaded team he only made it to the world series once, and someone else brought up Roger Craig who was pretty important. A big factor was inconsistency - players would have good years, and then bad years. The exception was Gibson who was a metronome - 27 home runs, 29 steals, .840 OPS.
  22. They're thirsty in Atlanta, and there's beer in Texarkana
  23. It was the exact opposite for Canadians, we could breeze into the US but then get a hard time coming back.
  24. That is what people remember about him in Houston, not for winning one World Series with a ridiculously stacked team.
  25. Where can I read about how Hinch is going to have a big hand in choosing the new GM?
