  1. Kelly batted third? I thought that was Clete Thomas' spot.
  2. Hamilton Ontario, a one bedroom goes for about $1700. We are about an hour from Toronto.
  3. Oh thank goodness the Pope has finally spoken up, I was a nervous wreck waiting to find out if he approved of supporting Ukraine.
  4. Correct, he was the first. He had intangibles right up to here.
  5. OK I agree, from now on we'll use Juan Gonzalez as an example of a typical free agent.
  6. Good for you, you found one example. Gonzalez was 31 when he made that choice. Big stars who have already made a ton of money and are over 30 can do things like that. That isn't who the Tigers will be trying to sign. For the guy entering free agency for the first time, money talks.
  7. Soto threatening to break the game wide open.
  8. Every home run that lands in the bullpen, Smith and McHale didn't want those to be home runs.
  9. The biggest change is left center, 398 when the park opened, 370 today.
  10. If the Tigers offer him the most money he'll take it. He knows, I hope, that nobody thinks he is worth a Lindor contract.
  11. I agree 100%, the history and success of the team is power hitting and those 2 pathetic clowns went totally against it, and ownership let them.
  12. Tommy Lee Jones in a Blue Jays hat.
  13. You can't change the fences! They have already been changed once, undoing the valuable work contributed by Randy Smith and John McHale Jr. They were highly qualified for their positions...their dads were famous baseball executives. They designed the park, by their own admission, for a "National League style of play", so that some day Bake McBride, Willie McGee and Vince Coleman could play the outfield for the Tigers. Imagine how crestfallen they were to learn that all three of them had actually retired before Comerica park had even opened.
  14. I love the name "Heritage Action", it makes me want to take the white sheet off my bed and cut two eye holes in it.
  15. The right person, at the right time, at the right place.
  16. Yes it is easier to construct a roster by pretending that Cabrera won't be here.
  17. This line about "Zelenskyy wanted to negotiate but Johnson talked him out of it" sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me.
  18. You have to love Kerry Carpenter's audition so far. In a sample size that gets less small every day he is playing like a 32 homer guy. Now, he probably will sit out against tough lefthanders and he won't get 600 PA's in a full season, but still, 450 PA's as the lefthander in a platoon, with 20 or 25 home runs and an OBP in the 330's, would be an unexpectedly nice addition in 2023. I think that he has taken Baddoo's job which is tough because Baddoo is such a likeable kid with some exciting potential but c'est la vie.
  19. Do those nukes even work anymore? Hasn't 100% of the maintenance budget been stolen every year for decades?
  20. Hey Rob Manfred how about an extra run for a ball that Statcast estimates at more than 475 feet? You know, a 2 run homer with the bases empty? Sort of like a 3 point shot?
  21. Banning the shift is the dumbest thing ever.
  22. It's that name, Andre Lipcius, that is holding him back. It's a good name for a guy who hopes that some day the Paris runway models will be wearing his designs. Maybe now that Avila is gone we can get back to drafting guys named Mike and Bart and Chuck.
  23. It probably runs on a gas/oil mixture.
  24. He has been a loser all his life and no one knew that better than his dad.
  25. Yes, he seemed to want to criticize Granderson's community involvement.
