What’s scary here is that voters evidently had no clue about candidates in their district. All one had to do is google your zip code or address to find what district you live in. If the names don’t match there is something fishy going on

It was debated last week on Nextdoor (my first mistake). Doing a trunk or treat Halloween night. I was amused. We're in a new portion of the community, mostly empty nesters and few kids. I don't expect much. That said I did try to talk my wife into letting me set up a table in the driveway with candy bars for kids and wine pours for accompanying adults. She shot that down fairly quickly

So if the Conservative Christian Right is so concerned about Mexican Drug Lords moving into our neighborhoods and handing out illegal drugs disguised as Mars bars why were the so against an HOA proposal to hold a Trunk or Treat at the community center in our neighborhood, arguing instead that their kids need to go door to door. Why is the so called Christian Right even celebrating a pagan holiday?

Wish she was my congresscritter instead of some two bit insurance salesman who probably never set foot in our neck of the woods unless he was on his way to the Outer Banks.

Compared to the other party candidates for Gov he was reasonable. It also helped that they rigged the nominating system in his favor. The fact that he refused to repudiate Trump and has spent a lot of time with Rafael Cruz was telling for anyone who follows that stuff.

Wouldn't Trump back on Twitter violate whatever agreement he has with Truth Social. Not that ever stopped him before. I'm not sure it would make much difference since his BS posts get posted on Twitter anyway.

Anyone who stayed awake during high school history class (is that a thing anymore) should know that the antebellum era Democrats morphed into the Republican Party in the late 60s and early '70s with Nixon's "Southern Strategy". LBJ admitted in 1964 when he signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 that the party had lost its base of Dixicrats and the state Democratic machines south of the Mason Dixon Line. McGovern probably sealed the deal for anyone hanging on to the pro slavery South Will Rise Again folks. The current crop of Trump Republicans make the likes of Harry Byrd and Strom Thurman look like sane liberals.
