  1. The Fairness Doctrine requiring broadcast stations to provide equal time to opposing opinion was repealed in 1987. Hence the rise of conservative leaning talk radio (plus the fact that music stinks on the AM band and owners were losing tons of money). It was also about the time the lifted ownership rules changing the number of stations a radio group could own.
  2. I still wear jeans and I’m 69. Mostly around the house or running errands. I do try not to tuck in my polos. I’ll wear khakis if we are going out for dinner or concert. Was joking the other day that I missed the PGA store at DTW. Between my airport discount for volunteering and watching their sales I got some nice stuff for not a lot of $$
  3. Such an astute businessman. The best ever
  4. Atlanta won their division, maybe if the Dodgers moved back to Brooklyn…..
  5. Still think the best portrayal of god is Alanis Morissette
  6. One of the first things I noticed when we moved here, people actually return carts. Or at least most of them. So nice to live in a civilized area.
  7. This is one hell of an ad…
  8. Just a bunch of peaceful tourists… https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/internal-park-police-emails-reveal-more-gun-incidents-warnings-on-jan-6/2793649/
  9. Saw a way too early mock that had Detroit drafting fourth, taking CB Dereck Stingley Jr. Then Sam Howell with LA’s pick.
  10. That ranks right up there with YoungOne’s claim that people are leaving the state in droves. Looking at all the building here and along the I95 corridor I think most of the loss is in dark red areas where they don’t wasn’t any “foreigners” or halfbacks anyway.
  11. As long as these guys are still out there, no way I’m considering QOP
  12. But the way the QOP is stacked now nobody wins the nomination without The Godfather’s blessing. Never Trumpers are going to be hard to convince unless he/she completely disavows TFG
  13. I’d guess prior to 2016 about 60% of the active members of this group supported candidates other than Democrats.
  14. I’ll give you one as well. Feeling generous
  15. Isn’t assessed value about 50% or so of market value. I think that’s what we were running in Farmington Hills
  16. Zillow estimates the average home price in Hoffman Estates at around $320 thousand. I would guess they live on the edge of HE and Barrington, which would put it closer to $400 thousand. Still not bad for the NW suburbs. I ran a quick Zillow check on a house we owned about 25 years ago on the Aurora/Naperville line. It seems to fall in that range.
  17. My Awchy what big hands you have you dingbat. 658 arrests is slightly mor than a handful. Not to mention a few Congress critters that aided and abetted
  18. Good to know things are going well. My wife caught her diagnosis very early. Lumpectomy found everything. Two years later still clean. The follow up drugs tend to knock her flat however.
  19. Basically if I’m walking (especially with the dog who tends to want to jump at the bike) as long as I know they’re coming I can get off the path. if I’m on the bike they’re generally walking to the right of me, hence the shoutout
  20. Watching the Deadthings-Atlanta game. That guy from ODU is looking pretty good for the Landover team.
  21. One of bicycle peeves on the bike/walking trails is that bicyclists very rarely alert walkers/runners that they are approaching from behind. Just a quick comment “passing on the left/right” or whatever. Same with passing slower riders. It was quite common in Illinois several years ago (Prairie Path) but I seldom heard it in Michigan. Since I tend to walk my dog along the trails it would be nice to get her out of the way before something happens to both the dog and rider without having to look over my shoulder all the time. Second, what is the etiquette when there is both a bike lane and a multipurpose trail along a route? I would prefer staying on the multipurpose trail given the number of construction trucks in the area but don’t want to piss odd neighbors who insist on walking 3 or 4 abreast
  22. “Never heard of her, who is she” TFG
  23. Attention
  24. By the way, are y’all ready for the Ted Nugent for Governor campaign?
  25. That’s close to how I’m seeing the Virginia Gubernatorial and other races this year. It’s going to be a bellwether for 2022. Youngkin is trying to play both sides of the GOP, admitting out loud that Biden won the election but still paying fealty to Godfather Donald. Attempting not to say much about topics like abortion, etc. The fact here is that areas like Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads and Richmond suburbs are gaining population and are trending blue. The rest of the state is deep deep Trump territory but are seeing large numbers of people leaving. If Youngkin can eek out a victory over McAuliffe, who is a centrist Democrat it could possibly be a blueprint for 2022 and 2024.
