  1. When we lost Rumor's predecessor we had just returned from a work/vacation trip to Denver. the kennel had called us earlier that weekend to say that she had gotten sick. She was 13 and had begun having issues a short while earlier. The day after we put her down I had major surgery and was laid up for about a month. That gave me too much time to surf the net. I found a breeder who used to live in Western Michigan who had moved to Kentucky. I started showing his FB pictures to my wife. After about a month or so of resisting, he posted free delivery to Kalamazoo for his pups.....
  2. Bleacher Report has its first post SB draft out with the Lions taking Thibodeiux, (Jacksonville took Neal). The Lions second pick is a bit of a stretch as they've penciled in Justin Ross. A slew of WRs are off the board. London to the Giants at 7, Olave to the Browns, Jamesin Williams to NO, Burks to NE, Dotson to the Bills and Wilson to the Titans. They have Detroit taking Matt Corral their second round pick. Three QBs were already off the board. Picket to Denver, Ridder to Washington and Willis to Pittsburgh. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2951636-2022-nfl-mock-draft-br-nfl-scouting-depts-post-super-bowl-picks
  3. And never allow you to speak. It's like working in a call center or any public information desk. The customer is seldom right
  4. I think it's becoming a bit more common due to age. I doubt anybody remembers Bill Bishop who worked in Ann Arbor during the '60s and '70s. Did a bit of sports on WAAM, especially Basketball, EMU baseball and hockey. He moved to Hampton Roads in the late 70s to do minor league baseball and was a sports staple in the region. Just before he passed late last year something similar was announced. He died right after the Michigan/OSU game. Prayers of peace for the family.
  5. Filed under things that put a smile on your face. Hot ginger cake just out of the oven from Raleigh Tavern. Fife practice in the background and a leisurely walk down DOG Street on a sunny morning.
  6. Meet Rumor. She's 6 years old and wishes Puggles could fly
  7. I a bit torn on how to take Eric Garland. This thread is worth reading..... Read the whole thing...
  8. If I have to go back to my teenage years.... Tommy James The Rascals Otis Redding Percy Sledge Oh yea, the Stones and 4 guys from Liverpool Actually I've been thinking about this lately. If I had to put together a playlist for a nursing home.....
  9. I neglected to add that it seems the only thing they want to build is a new palace for Dan Snyder to destroy on his own.
  10. I'll play. I used PFN because I like the system better. I do think all of these sims seem a bit dated in their evaluations. 2) Karlaftis. Hutchinson went #1, I'm not completely sold on Thibodeaux. Gut feeling Karlaftis may have a better upside. 32) Nakobe Dean LB. Highest rated LB and player on the board. 34) Perrin Winfrey DT. Once highest rated guy on board. 66) Dotson WR. Highest rated receiver 177) James Mitchell TE. This is a stretch. I debated between him and Barno (Edge) and Haskins. Went with the VT TE because of his perceived versatility. 180) Haskins, he fell this far, was at the top of the board. 218) Mike Rose LB. Highest pick on board 232 Vicent Grey
  11. They're definitely in tear down mode. Wanting to deregulate just about everything from schools to local water advisory boards.
  12. Vett? They were just looking for partners in crime Meanwhile the Trump stooge nominated to watch the environment is still on the job despite his nomination being rejected by the state senate
  13. Keep in mind he is owned by the clubs. We haven't had an impartial Commissioner since Bart Giamatti
  14. Remember rants about poor water pressure in toilets?
  15. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression they received a stipend. Something like $50 or so. I also thought that there needed to be workers from both parties. Which would nullify the losing former president's and his minions claim of hanky panky (posted before I saw the above)
  16. Only if we go back to closing businesses on Sundays
  17. Not to mention Tuesday was usually the day they went to town for supplies. Within the last 50 years we've gone from when stores were closed Sundays to being open 7 days. It wasn't that long ago that car dealers were closed on Saturdays. My wife was amazed when she first went to Chicago in 1990 that many stores in the biggest mall in the area closed at 6 PM on Saturdays. There is no reason not to have polling places open for at least two weeks before the election. Not necessarily schools and churches that are commonly used for Election Day, but at least village halls and perhaps a local community center. You would probably get more volunteer poll workers that way as well.
  18. They never consider this. Just the short term....
  19. I can buy a campaign worker going rogue. I don't buy this as an apology and want to see the campaign worker fired and banished to Bristol.
  20. But you can't see what the machine spits out at the end..... But then you're in Chicago
  21. I can't find it now, but I found a recent report/survey that showed while there was an increase in voter turnout in 2020 over 2016, it was roughly the same for both parties. Once again the Trumpublican Boogieman is a pack of lies. Except where it counts. That's in vote tabulation and final official results. That's what they really want to control.
