  1. So I'm going to switch this around... I am... 99% Certain that 1 of Bey/ Bojan/ Burks will be traded and only 50/50 that Noel will get traded... I just wanted to get that right....
  2. I'm assuming on the court... ???????? They were desperate for some rebounding...?
  3. Just asking... Because I would have no idea... Was there some kind of issue between Bey/ Casey/ management? Could that be the reason they just dumped him? Or... one other reason I heard floating around: Did they make a decision on who they were interested in extending and what their budget was going to be? And already made a decision on Bey...? Or Bey's agent had given signals of an Ask that the Pistons had no interest in meeting? Just trying to find any kind of logic here, aside from on-the-court value. It HAS to be something else... right?
  4. I don't think a Quintin Johnson at 18 is required to replace Chark. I'm looking more at a Jonathon Mingo at #81 or a Trey Palmer at #169.
  5. I was going to quote your earlier comment on Pelosi, and state that Trump's speech itself was also childish... But I think you've already covered that here...
  6. I'm comfortable with the top 4 being Jobe, Jung, Keith and Flores... And not in any particular order. Order them however anyone wants to... At least at this point it's hard for me to separate them so I think of them only as our top 4... If Jobe or Keith separate themselves this year... then a ranking may become more clear with those guys... But not there yet IMO.
  7. I don't want a Riddick-type back... this year. I want a strong backup for when Swift goes down. If Swift wasn't so injury prone, I'd be totally open to another Riddick. But I think that has to be resolved first, prior to spending another roster spot on a potential Riddick-type. Just my 2 cents.
  8. Pass-blocking is a skill usually coached up in the NFL. It seems like with most drafted backs. Not all take to it, not all need it... But the guys you listed have enough talent to get there... even if it takes some coaching up. I'm not worried. Charbonnet is what? 6' 1" 225 #'s? I think he'll get there.
  9. Out with Chark. And in with Dean. Unless, as buddha said, the contract is cheap enough if it's another prove-it deal. Otherwise, I agree Tater, I like the big physical component but... I believe there are other avenues that can get us that, it's not Chark-only-or-bust. I don't know what other FA options there are... but the draft this year looks loaded with big, fast receivers. I'd let Holmes pick the one he wants, in the draft round that he wants...
  10. Plus Jameson Williams should largely take over Chark's effective usage... or at least we hope so. I think we can expand J-Will's touches, keep a heavy dose of ARSB, and find another cheaper version of Chark, even if his replacement has less usage/ experience/ etc... and fill-in around the edges with Reynolds, Kalif, etc... to keep Goff and this offense happy. There's just so many college WR's coming out... You can draft a guy like Mingo or Cedric Tillman or Trey Palmer or Andrei Iosavis in the 3rd?/ 5th round? ... depending on which prospect and who falls and... a Chark-lite-rookie-season is still enough to keep that dimension on offense for Goff. And free up money to get the most impactful CB on the market. Dean would definitely be a much higher impact on the D than Bradberry on D/ and Chark's impact on O - combined. IMO.
  11. I have better ones: National League: Frigidaire Division Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, Twins Border Patrol Division San Diego, Arizona, Houston, Texas California Dreamin' Division Dodgers, A's, Giants, Angels (guess which state...?) Grunge (or Grody, or Nirvana) Division Mariners, Rockies, Royals, Cardinals American League: Patriots Division Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Phillies In or Near Canada Division Tigers, Guardians, Blue Jays, Reds Appalachia EW Division Pirates, Orioles, Nationals, Nashville (expansion team) Hurricane Alley Division Marlins, Rays, Braves, Charlotte (expansion team)
  12. I would rather get Dean (and I think he is more gettable as I think Tampa is teetering on a rebuild so... makes him more available to signing with another team.. and... Detroit is up-and-coming); and make the necessary cap moves to get him. I don't think Chark + Bradberry is more valuable than Dean and any other WR replacement, including a late draft pick. So if we have to lose Chark to gain Dean, I say yes. Or... Chark has to come cheaper than your contract...
  13. I have my sights set on Chris Gonzalez as my #1 CB if he falls to #18. Or if we trade down somehow.
  14. I would do a few things differently but... No bad. Where do you see asking prices for FA's? (Or is that PFF subscription...?)
  15. I don't think so. Different connotations. Not the same thing at all.
  16. It's a long list of broken Tigers that are coming back from injury or need to have their bat/ approach fixed: Meadows Rogers Turnbull Mize (2024) Faedo Skubal (s/b 2023 mid-season?) Kreidler (partial) Eduardo (partial) Greene (partial) Baddoo (broken bat) Torkelson (broken bat) Baez (partial broken bat) Schoop (broken bat). I'm sure there are several others I haven't mentioned. Of all of these candidates, I think only Baez and Schoop are actual regression to the mean candidates. All the others are recoveries from lost time or, too new to the league to actually have an established mean (Baddoo/ Tork). That's why I would call this the Year of Fixing Broken Players. As for Baez, I think he already healed himself the second half of last season, to a degree... and I think the emphasis on approach by the new regime will also help him. So I expect some significant improvement on his part. Schoop I think can regress to the mean both at bat (getting better) and in the field (getting worse)... and he's both getting too old for where this team is at, and is at the end of his contract so I don't really care much about him as a player for the Tigers. Not in a mean way, I'm just ready to move on. Same with Miggy... who has no mean left to regress to. He's just playing out the last year of his career... whatever that amounts to. Probably not a whole lot. And there is also a long list of newbies too new to actually know what their mean is... and I would rather liken them to growth curve newbies trying to establish their mean level... I think Greene can get substantially better and establish a high-level mean, as can Tork! Not certain about other guys like Kreidler/ Baddoo/ Wentz/ Brieske/ Lange/ can amount to. Or how much growth they have left. Haase I think, he is what he has shown himself to be. So no learning curve from him. He has already established, and performed to his mean. Is that the same with Maton & Vierling? Have they shown/ performed exactly who they are at this point...? The Learning Curve Growth Candidates (a mean not yet established) to me are: Greene Tork! Manning (How much better can he get? Can he get better? Has he established his mean or is there still room for growth?) Kreidler Baddoo Carpenter Wentz Brieske Lange (maybe a little bit?) Donny Sands (whatever MLB time he's able to earn this year) Wenceel Perez (whatever MLB time he's able to earn this year) Justyn-Henry Malloy (whatever MLB time he's able to earn this year) Tyler Nevin (whatever MLB time he's able to earn this year) Reese Olson (whatever MLB time he's able to earn this year) I don't even want to get into the bullpen, that will be crazy. Except for Lange and only in the sense that I don't know if he has still some room to grow, or not.
  17. I'm going to go with 2023 Tigers MVP: Fixed all the broken Tigers.
  18. In 1973 Topps style.
  19. Darn... I just caught up with the rest of the thread... Poor word choice on my part.
  20. Actuary... One of my choices in college as I thought what to do with my mathematics background... Actuarial headwinds are a bitch...
  21. I believe they are already in possession of the 12 Challengers and in training with them...?
  22. No, I don't think that's it. I think it's the other old people issue (and I'm getting really close to that I think...): Likes, dislikes, hatreds and animosities ossify.
  23. Can't wait to see what Malloy looks like at 3rd and against MLB pitching... Might be July-ish for that though...
