  1. Thanks for that! (I didn't think Kim Deal would ever associate with Frank Black again... so with no possibility of that happening, of course it would need to be another bass player...) I wasn't paying attention... I'll have to check their new stuff out!
  2. Olson had a start at Erie today... 4 innings, 9 K's. 1 Run on 4 hits and 1 BB. 77 pitches so maybe that's his pitch cap (80-ish) and why he only pitched the 4...?
  3. The Pixies put out some new material?!
  4. I agree... That's my main point. I'm already looking beyond this year...
  5. Flores looks like he could become a monster prospect... he's just smokin' guys... 21 y.o. in AA already... So... aside from getting Torkelson/ Dingler/ Cabrera (Danny)/ Trei Cruz/ Gage Workman/ and Colten Keith in only 5 rounds of drafting in 2020... They also picked up Wilmer Flores as an undrafted FA pitcher right after that draft... Not a bad draft... we'll see how that finishes up...
  6. Cisnero is already 33 and I don't see him as a long-term fixture. I'm not wishing him ill will or anything, it's not that at all.... It's just that... If it's time to move on from him... it's time. I won't sweat that. I am completely into turning the roster over to young guys. Even if they flop... I wanna see them get their chance to make it or sink it... It's why it didn't bother me to suggest moving on from Schoop and giving 2B to Clemens... Kody could completely fall on his face (he has so far...) but I don't care. Let's just move on... from Grossman, Schoop, Miggy (after this season), Barnhart (same), Cisnero, Jacob Barnes (?!?!), even Haase if he can't do any better than this... Fulmer can come back next year if he comes back cheap...
  7. Hmm... Well, it seems Elvin has a lot of work to do if he wants to make it at the MLB level...
  8. Something like this. His posts are nothing but pure bile.
  9. Spoken like a TRUE ENEMY of DEMOCRACY. Go back to Russia you traitorous fascist beeotch.
  10. I want to see some progress from this team/ multiple players... for the balance of this season. Don't care about the wins/ losses... just want to see some serious progress. And that definitely includes Baez.
  11. On the position side, we need a couple more guys, like say Keith, Wenceel, and Dingler... to make it at the MLB level. And they're another 2 years or so away... maybe September 2023...? We need Greene to get healthy, and Tork to get better. Personally, I see hope for this team. Even as soon as the rest of this year. But the roller coaster ride seems a lot more up and down then I thought before this season started...
  12. Faedo, Manning, Turnbull... Plus maybe Brieske and/or Wentz if they get better at the MLB level. And we still have Skubal and E-Rod. We still have a rotation for 2023, and even the balance of this year if they could get, and stay, healthy.
  13. Mize is finally going under the knife for TJ....
  14. Dylan Smith got rocked though. 5 Runs (3 ER) in barely over an inning...
  15. Which sounds like a shoulder or something. Not great, but... Better then an achilles or something worse...
  16. Concur. Otherwise... That leads to Henry Ellenson-itis. Beware the Dropping Draftee.
  17. Oh wait... should I be a little more PC...?
  18. String them up by their fucking balls... and chop their seditious heads right the fuck off.
  19. Gotcha, cool. Yeah, he's all in/ pretty dedicated to accounting, accounting, accounting.
  20. Ever been at the UMass-Amherst location? My best buddy has a PHD in Accounting and teaches at Amherst. Actually, I think he does more research and papers than teaching but... He got his PHD at Amherst and then started teaching at Drexel in Philly. Moved back to teaching at Amherst a dozen years ago or so...
  21. So another two weeks plus or minus is how I read that... (I haven't read the article yet, going to now... I meant just reading tea leaves...).
  22. I still consider this team a 1979/1980 team, not a 1983/1984 team. There are still a lot of prospects on their way up and we still have some team-building to do....
  23. Yeah... I think I'm going to disagree with this. I think they are, what is commonly known as... Rookies. Or still close enough to it that they are trying to find their way in MLB. If you're saying they're not MLB starters, today... I might agree with that. But I think they deserve reps to find out. And they haven't had enough to say one way or another, IMO. But they do appear to have MLB-level skills. And this is who you're going to bring up? Reyes? What is he going to show us that he hasn't already for the past 5 years? Somehow he is more deserving than Hill or Cameron? Agree to disagree on this one... I don't need to see anything more from him. I'd rather see Hill or Cameron squarely planted in CF to see if one or the other just might pop. Because Reyes... ain't. These two I am on board with. But it's also simple to me, and Reyes is not a part of the future except as a 5th OF'er at best. Nothing more. I could care less whether he gets any additional PA's this year. In fact, I'd rather see them move on from Reyes. And see more of Baddoo. And have Hill or Cameron play platoon with Baddoo, play D and pinch runner, get starts in CF... etc. Just my preference.
  24. As I was reading your post above this I was going to throw out a post of my own suggesting... Just exactly what you said here. Headline News for 30 minutes. And focused (topical) 30 minute segments for at least a couple hours on: Ukraine, gun control issues, Supreme Court, education, China, etc... whatever are the most interesting topics of the week... But focused for that 1/2 hour on one subject only.
