Lions at Vikings - 10/10/21 - 1:00pm - FOX

At least one of these college Sr. QB's needs to develop into a franchise-savior... real quick. -
No, no, NO!!!!!!
-
Nope.
-
Yes. Let him get his two Arb seasons. And, reassess mid-2023 what we should do. Is Paredes starting to crush it and slots into 3B? Or providing same ratio stats and fielding as Jeimer? Is Workman at AAA and moved over to 3B because of, whatever, ... and knocking at MLB with outstanding offensive numbers and excellent fielding? Is Colten Keith right behind him at AA, same production? Absolutely foolish to go past his arb years right now. He's a decent guy, I like him, at 3-4 WAR per year for another couple years, but... Mid-season 2023... I reassess.

Jeimer Candelario.
-
I don't think this had anything to do with the players you listed... None of them take precedence over Tork And everything to do with Jeimer Candelario.
-
I think Tork is simply to get him more acclimated to higher-level quality breaking balls and the higher volume of them.

2021 Offseason - 2021/22 PreSeason Thread

Also: Message to Zadina by putting Raymond on the top line and pushing Zad down 1... -
I think it was mentioned in the game thread today... Don't draft a receiver in 2022, just defense and a QB if the right one is available. I beg to differ. If we decide to draft a QB in 2022, we are also drafting at least 1, maybe 2 WR's. And either a 2nd/3rd round type Guard or another TE. If we are NOT drafting a QB in 2022, then 1 WR and the rest defense. IMO. (My 2 cents...)

Until that happens, moot point. Also, if TFG is on the ticket, yeah, he needs to add voters. Because he's already lost more votes than he can make up for. He's not getting more than he got in 2020. And the Dems are NOT losing votes in 2024... As long as HE is on the ticket. Take him off and add Haley... then we can start talking about Dems losing votes...
-
And back to pfife's point: Trump may generate high turnout on his side... but he will generate even higher turnout against him. It doesn't matter if Biden or Harris or anyone else is leading the Dem ticket, there will be no lost votes as long as Trump is the Republican nominee. The only way to get Biden/Harris/Dem nominee to lose votes in 2024 is to get Trump off of the ticket. Which also says that in 2022, since TFG obviously won't be in this vote, that it might be really easy for the Republicans to take back both the House and Senate. At least how it's currently going for Dems... in general. They (Dems) need to pass their infrastructure and BBB bills soon. To have any decent chance in 2022...
-
Yeah, we'll see about that. His high point so far is 74 million. If he runs in 2024, let's see what he ends up with.

I'm going to have to watch this after reading what you guys are saying...
-
Has anyone seen Halt and Catch Fire? Most known to me is Lee Pace but there are 4 main characters centering around the developments of the PC, Laptops, online gaming, Internet, etc... And the drama and characters are off-the-charts amazing. It's less about computers, etc. and more about the characters themselves. I'm starting season 4 (out of 4) and I am completely transfixed. It's a great show (Netflix...).

I thought also that the Org felt that his splitter was adversely affecting his FB and control/ other pitches... It was making him a worse pitcher. So Fetter asked him to scrap it. IIRC.
-
That doesn't matter. The overwhelming hatred of him will spur 60% of the country, and that includes a massive number of Republicans/ Independents who will NOT stomach Jan 6th... to vote against him. No matter who the Dem nominee is. To Archie's point: it has to be someone other than Trump. And not Junior, either... nor Ivanka. The tricky part will be that whoever wins the Republican nomination will have to: (A) Not piss off Trump, (B) get his endorsement/ support because there's no other way to win. He's kingmaker. (C) Distance him/herself from Jan 6th in order to get back moderate Republicans (pissing off Trump), (D) Get back suburban housewives and moderate/ establishment Republicans/ Independents while NOT pissing off the white nationalist base. Who can pull that off? Nikki Haley? I don't see anyone else who can walk that exact tightrope.

Oh and... I don't remember all my presidents but I knew immediately there was no President Pardee so that sent me off on a search quest....
-
No... I haven't lived in Michigan since 1982. Grew up in west Detroit on Burt Road (right across from a golf course... forgot the name of it... River Rouge Golf Course? And then moved out in '77 for High School in Fowlerville (home of Charlie Gehringer)... Actually, 8th grade through 12th... Had cousins in Redfern... But on Pardee, just did a quick google and all this info popped up, it was an easy answer...

Anthony Volpe is their better (#1 prospect) SS prospect but he's at least a couple years away and I don't think there's any chance we can wrangle him away from the Yankees.
-
PS: Peraza 2021: A+/ AA/ AAA - .297 BA, .834 OPS (18 HR's), 38 SB's, 10 CS's, 111-37 K-BB ratio in 511 PA's (could be better, but not terrible). There could be a competition between Peraza and Kreidler with the loser going either to the bench, or AAA.
-
It's not a serious "or bust." More like a conversational piece. I could probably say I'm more "hell bent for Correa" than anything else. I'd like the Tigers to make a "full-court press" for him... To use a couple metaphors... But yeah... obviously we'll need to have a plan B, C, etc. since every other team (read: Yankees, et al...) will also be doing the full court press thing... Until we actually lose out on Correa though... I'm "Correa or Bust!" If/ when we lose out on Correa, I like Story/ Semien on shorter term contracts, or even hunting the Yanks highest level SS prospect (their #3 prospect, in AAA and had a nice year.. Oswald Peraza) if they are the ones who sign Correa. Those are my Plans B, C & D.

2021 Offseason - 2021/22 PreSeason Thread

Plus Vrana might be back by then. I like a Raymond-Veleno-Vrana line better than with Suter.... and that might actually become our 2nd line, pushing Fabbri-Namest-Ryan down a notch... -

I don't think the Red Wings are going to start Veleno and Raymond in the NHL. But I think they should from what I've seen. I don't think I will be that upset about it though, if that's how they play it... Give them all the ice time they can handle in Grand Rapids, all phases. Trade some veterans at the deadline for whatever we can get, and then bring them up for good afterwards. I think Veleno can Center the 2nd or 3rd line, and Raymond can Wing any of the top 3 lines. And I don't speak 3rd line out of low expectations... I think if these two were on the 3rd line with Suter just for example, the 3rd line becomes an extremely dangerous scoring line rivaling the 2nd line (with Fabbri, Ryan, Namestnikov... for example). Plus PP and PK time if they warrant that... Might be enough for their rookie year... -
Thanks! Helpful... and interesting... in an "I need to take with a grain of salt" what they're saying about lower level numbers. And... that an in-person scout is better information than reading the internets... I mean, obviously... but that provides stark context.

I'm in a "Correa or Bust" mood all of a sudden.
