  1. Also, they undervalue the sweet ca$h from all that surface parking.
  2. having just received my tax bill which is about 50% higher than last year's and knowing its not going down because the people you identify above won't be interested in my pocketbook over theirs ... i am in agreement that the Billionaires appear to have purchased the right leader for them.
  3. 24 out of 30 seems wrong to me. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/11/cnbcs-official-mlb-team-valuations-2025.html We have significant headwinds apparently. Our multi-generational fanbase isn't reflexively buying enough merch and our media relationships are still tied to Joey Breakyaboni and the casino element. I guess the other problem is that the revenue flywheel provided by luxury boxes won't be strong. These are not going to sell if the local industry is in depression.
  4. Must have had dissenting views.
  5. I post this more as a placeholder than a realistic thought that he could be impeached for this. He can't be impeached until the Dems have the House and Senate with large enough majorities that the marginal Republicans feel they can go along with an impeachment. The blue wave of 2026 would have to be very large indeed for that to play out.
  6. Could. She could also have taken measure of the man and decided she needs to fight this. That's the wishful/wishcasted version of this by me.
  7. never underestimate the value of direct experience of both people and places.
  8. Where is openly flaunting the rule of law to profit while fellow citizens lose their life savings on this graphic?

  10. S&P at 5% loss is that breaker territory? edit: i see its 7%
  11. And his staff are notorious Machiavellian swine.
  12. You have the luxury of your well-reasoned opinion. She doesn't.
  13. I can see the argument for a demonstrative fight with Trump and seeing Selfridge close and US/Canada tariffs go to bizonkers levels. It would help her with her 2028 Presidential run.
  14. Yes, a blunder. The fact is that with the mad king the best outcome is benign neglect not active hostility.
  15. She was trying to prevent Selfridge from closing! That would be an enormous hit to the state economy.
  16. Whitmer is trying to prevent a man-made catastrophe in the state. She has a responsibility to represent her people. I agree she should show backbone and not be part of unconstitutional displays like the Executive Order but, the mad king aspect is part and parcel of the catastrophe she is trying to avoid. I wouldn't want her groveling just as I wouldn't want her playing footsie with the PRC over the battery plant. She was trying to serve her citizens. I think she has to navigate the news about this carefully so she isn't identified as some sort of Dem ally of the mad king.
  17. I don't know why but losing to the Yankees feels like a tragedy beyond a normal loss and it leads one to feelings of dread and despair. Like why did you include parachute mines that looked like toys in the bombing run on the military facility that was next to the orphanage you warcriming swine?!
  18. If they can send Torkelson down, they can send him down. Jung might be ready to come up.
  19. Had a lot to do with the pictures of brooms
  20. Will they have colored generals?
  21. that right there is some frightening language. Marisa Kabas: "“We need to get better at treating this like a business,” Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said, explaining he wants to see a deportation process “like (Amazon) Prime, but with human beings.”" — Bluesky
  22. Trump thinks he was being spied on when they recorded his impeachment call with Zelensky.
  23. Today's request: "Pour it on, Blythe!"
