  1. At least I didn’t type have been heild hitler!
  2. 2 outs, 1 to go! Not as exciting as a solo no hitter but still would be cool.
  3. With Foley’s help, the Jays have been held hitler through 8.
  4. Manning pulled after 6 2/3 no-hit innings as he hits 90 pitches.
  5. And the top of rotation of Skubal-Lorenzen-Manning.
  6. Jim Price can barely be heard. That's a big deterioration even from a month ago. I don't think he could or should continue any longer.
  7. Greene has now reached base 3 times already today. Two singles and a walk.
  8. 5 hitless innings by Manning on only 65 pitches.
  9. And good for Helm for getting to celebrate two Cup championships 14 years apart with two different pretty women.
  10. And in the "Top" feed when DeBrincat is trending, it will be a story from a day ago. So then I have to switch over to the "Latest" feed and sift through fake accounts with wild rumours.
  11. Easier said than done when it’s been four whole days since Torkelson’s multi-homer game and he only got on base a total of three times over the past two games.
  12. Then there’s the extremely rare Ty Cobb Cycle: single, stolen base, inside-the-park home run, and ejection.
  13. Maybe Montreal could sign him and Zadina could try to fill their net with pucks... during development camp or pre-game warmups.
  14. Anyone examine him for CTE?
  15. Maybe his thinking is there are teams who would sign him and give him NHL playing time if not for his bad contract. So be free, sign a 1 x $1mm, and hope to kickstart his career somewhere. Make money after he proves himself if he thinks he can. His concern must be that he can’t make the Wings and that being buried in the minors kills any chance of big figure paydays. Quite a gamble though.
  16. Wait until we find out the wife or girlfriend of DeBrincat is best friends with that of Tarasenko and they both want to bring their foursome to the Vegas Knights.
  17. Let’s hope it’s just a cramp.
  18. We all need to ease off on Zadina. After all, he has more career goals than Quinn Hughes!
  19. Zadina clears waivers. He will try to make the team. If he can’t, he can be sent down to GR but only if he clears waivers again then.
  20. That’s how I interpret it. But I think Ottawa is likely in weaker position than a week ago. I’d offer them Boston’s #1 next year, period, and hope it is in the high 20s. Don’t need to add a decent player and certainly not a prospect. They can take one of our depth players created by the free agent signing logjam if they wish.
  21. I wasn’t exactly sure what the tweet meant so I listened to the full 2 minutes. Friedman says the Sens and DeBrincat aren’t happy with each other right now. But know they need to grind through to put this behind them. DeBrincat wants to go to Detroit and the thinking is if Ottawa and Detroit can agree on a trade he will sign with the Wings. That’s the hold up right now as Ottawa and Detroit haven’t been aligned but they’re really not that far apart. Not going to get anything out of the Isles and Lamorello. Talks with Anaheim were warming up but seem to have cooled. Vegas May have come and gone.
  22. Didn't work out, in spectacularly bad fashion, but can't say I wasn't cheering hard on draft day. Especially when combined with later picks Veleno, Berggren and McIsaac. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2776599-filip-zadina-picked-6th-by-red-wings-twitter-praises-easy-selection The Detroit Red Wings picked Halifax Mooseheads winger Filip Zadina with the sixth overall selection in the 2018 NHL draft Friday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Let's check out some Twitter reaction about the first-round choice: Zadina enjoyed a terrific debut campaign in the QMJHL. The versatile forward racked up 44 goals and 38 assists for 82 points in 57 games. He added 12 points in nine playoff appearances. North American Central Scouting chief scout Mark Seidel praised Zadina's playmaking skill set during a January interview with Daniel Nugent-Bowman of Sportsnet. "He's dynamic. He can control the game. He shows he can take the puck and dominate at times," Seidel said. "He showed his skating ability (in the 2018 CHL Top Prospects Game). Every night in Halifax he does that, basically. He's going to be an elite scorer. But he also has good vision. Both those things translate well to the NHL." It's hard to know exactly how soon Zadina will be ready to make the NHL jump. His play in the top Czech league showcased the progress he needed to make before becoming a full-time pro, but there's no doubt he's made serious strides during his year with Halifax. The Red Wings will likely bring the winger, who can play on either the left or right side, to training camp and let him play in at least a handful of preseason games. From there, they can decide whether to keep him for a nine-game tryout stint or send him back to the Mooseheads for another year of seasoning. Regardless, he projects as a future top-line forward who could lead Detroit in scoring a couple of times once he becomes established in the NHL. If he does make an immediate jump, he'll be joining an offense that ranked 28th in scoring last season.
  23. I’m a bit disappointed that Yzerman didn’t specifically tell Tater and me by name to chill out.
  24. You build a winner through drafts + signings + trades. Can't just throw up one's hands and say that it's impossible to make a win-win trade. And if you can't make good value signings, why not? Bertuzzi at 1 x $5.5mm is a good value signing but I assume he wasn't interested in signing with the Wings like that as long as we're in purgatory. Make the playoffs and watch the number of players willing to consider the Wings as a destination increase.
