  1. What I remember about 2014 was us fans feeling negative about the team even before the series began. I'm not sure why. This Game 1 lineup was pretty strong and the playoff rotation started with Scherzer, Verlander and Price. The Tigers' regular season record was 90-72. Not sure why even down 2-0 to a 96-win team the fans gave up so easily.
  2. It was a big moment and Hamilton treated it as such. Instead of sounding like his dog had died, as announcers of some announcers would have.
  3. In the 2006 ALDS, the Tigers split the first two games at the Yankees, came home and won two straight to win the series 3-1. In the 2011 ALDS, the Tigers split the first two games at the Yankees, came home and won game 3 but lost game 4, then won Game 5 in New York. In the 2012 ALDS, the Tigers won the first two games at Comerica, then lost the next two games in Oakland, but won Game 5 still in Oakland. In the 2013 ALDS, the Tigers split the first two games in Oakland, then split the next two games at Comerica, then went back to Oakland and won Game 5.
  4. Royals might be able to tie their series too, as it is 4-1 KC in the top of the 8th. I can never watch a Royals-Yankees game without thinking of this clip of peak 1970s chaos.
  5. Bobby Scales has had a really good stretch drive and post-season.

  7. Coming up Thursday.…
  8. Boom! Carpenter’s 3-run Blast.m4a
  9. I think Carpenter’s home run caused my Apple Watch to be worried about me.
  10. Clase is human. He puts his pants on one leg at a time. 1st and 3rd, 2 out
  11. Closest I can come with screenshotting. Still inconclusive, IMO.
  12. On replays I think he caught it. Both Dan and Bobby Scales think he caught it.
  13. Vierling on 2nd with a double, 1 out. No time like the present.
  14. Not too many right fielders would have cut down Malloy at 2nd
  15. 12 up, 12 down for Skubal, 7 of them on strikeouts. 51 pitches.
  16. Regardless of how effective Skubal has been, four scoreless innings for Boyd is a big loss for the Tigers.
  17. Can’t waste this lead off double. Up to Rogers.
  18. Skubal strikes out the side. Perfect through 3.
  19. Greene grounds out weakly on the first pitch to end a two on, two out Tigers’ threat.
  20. Skubal looking good. 0-0 entering the 3rd, need a couple of runs.
