USC was still in it with a loss, and Caleb Williams’ injury would have helped with that. But not when defense gives up 47 points to a 3-loss team they had already lost to. Harder to argue a healthy Caleb would have been worth a missing 24 points.

I think that this was the perfect result for avoiding a Michigan-Ohio State rematch. Only way it won’t be Michigan-TCU in semi, IMO, would be if Georgia blows out LSU, Michigan loses to Purdue, and committee wants to reward Georgia with an easier TCU matchup vs having to play Ohio State.

I think they’ve done enough for #3. But an OT loss might give committee wriggle room to move them down to #4 if they want a certain matchup.

If Stroud had thrown a TD instead of an interception on 3rd and 10 in the red zone, it would have been a one-score game with 4 minutes to go. Michigan would have been getting the ball back but Ohio St still had all of its timeouts. ,
