  1. Bases loaded with Tigers. One swing of the bat and, well, the Tigers would still be in a deep hole but not dead.
  2. Looking like a double digit loss.
  3. Dingler really battled, and won.
  4. Has probably already been mentioned, but first time the Tigers are playing in front of a sitting president since Nixon in Washington in 1970.
  5. Which is why he was MIA at the 1999 Tiger Stadium finale and at some future '84 reunions. The pennant-clincher is still one of my all-time favorite Ernie calls. Great visuals too with the players, ump, cops and fans all scrambling.
  6. Pronman redrafts the 2023 draft. Too soon? Danielson up to 7th from 9th, ASP up to 10th from 17th, Augustine at 54th from 41st, and Finnie (!) at 69th from 201st. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6592359/2025/09/09/nhl-redraft-2023-bedard-carlsson-fantilli/
  7. Pronman redrafts the 2022 draft. Kasper stays at 8th. Guys Pronman puts ahead of Kasper who had been drafted lower are Lane Hutson, Frank Nazar, Connor Geekie and Jimmie Snuggerud. On the other hand, guys he puts below Kasper who had been drafted higher are Cutter Gauthier, Simon Nemec, and Kevin Korchinski. He keeps Slafkosky at #1 overall. Pronman puts Anton Johansson at 49th (drafted 105th) and Dmitri Buchelnikov 71st (drafted 52nd) and Amadeus Lombardi at 79th (drafted 113th) https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6592365/2025/09/10/nhl-redraft-2022-slafkovsky-cooley-wright-2/
  8. Pronman redrafts the 2021 draft. Puts Edvinsson 11th (drafted 6th), Cossa 21st (drafted 15th), and Buium 40th (drafted 36th). Guys he put ahead of Edvinsson who had been drafted lower are Dylan Guenther, Wyatt Johnston, William Elkund, Matthew Knies and Logan Stankoven. Still has Cossa at the top goalie, with Wallstedt next at 35th. Luke Hughes is ranked #1 overall followed by Guenther, Johnston, Mason McTavish and Matty Beniers. Original #1 pick Owen Power is at #7. https://share.google/uTce4uyK7q1eEZ9x1
  9. The Tigers are 18-9 this season against the AL East. Including 10-5 against Toronto/Boston/New York.
  10. Tigers again have the best record in the American League, by a 1/2 game over Toronto. And this is how close the Tigers are to a bye. If they simply go 6-10 the rest of the way, the Astros would need to go 12-4 or the Mariners 13-4 to finish ahead of the Tigers.
  11. Graphic just said first time by the Tigers at the Yankees since 1906.
  12. 11-1. The Tigers have a chance to win back to back road games by double digits. Doubt that happens very often, especially at Yankee Stadium.
  13. I’m very concerned by this series. That the Tigers are peaking too soon.
  14. This week has taught me that White Sox>Yankees
  15. Guardians lose. Magic number 9.
  16. Astros lose. Tigers 5 games up on Houston for the bye with 17 games to go, plus the tiebreaker win. That SHOULD be safe. 6.5 games up on Seattle but with a tiebreaker loss.
  17. Houston up 3-1 on Toronto in the 9th but the Jays have the bases loaded with 1 out. There are pro and cons regardless of who wins or loses, so I will just let it play out.
  18. Ok, 9 is acceptable.
  19. Bases loaded, none out. Now's the chance. I want at least 2 runs this inning.
  20. I am cautiously optimistic that the Tigers have a 2nd starting pitcher again.
  21. Parker parks one!
  22. If the Guardians win tonight and tomorrow and the Tigers lose tonight and tomorrow, the Guardians will control their own destiny with respect to the division title.
  23. The magic number over Cleveland is 11 The magic number over KC is now either 9 (when the league would recognize and the Tigers would celebrate) or 10 (Chas’ outright). So it’s 11 now.
  24. Astros lose in the 12th! Tigers remain 4 up in the “race” for the bye.
