  1. The Lions schedule would be so much better if the non-division home games were flipped with the non-division road games. I’d rather be facing the Cowboys, Bucs, Browns, Giants and Steelers on the road as I’d still favor the Lions in all of those, and face the Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, and Commanders a5 home.
  2. I think there is too much interest in Cozens for the Sabres to give him up for anything less than a 1st. I’d give up next year’s 1st, sure, as shouldn’t be any higher than 15th or so overall. Still a bit of risk attached to giving up this year’s 1st, so no to that. And yeah, throw in Berggren, Veleno, whatever, they’re pretty much dime a dozen. But I think someone else will beat that and I don’t expect the Wings to outbid them.
  3. Isn't today an off day?
  4. Thank God the Wings got lottery luck by losing it in 2020 to fall to 4th. Almost certainly would have picked consensus #1 Lafreniere, who wouldn’t even go top 5 in a re-draft. Stutzle and Raymond, in whichever order, are the top two of that draft.
  5. Sure, gladly. I have seen enough under Mclelland that even if the Wings tail off a bit the rest of the way and miss the playoffs this season, I now feel they have the makings of a good team. Kasper and Johansson are two nice adds that were question marks before the new coach. Would have been interesting to see where the team would be if Mclelland had been hired at Thanksgiving. I was ready to fire Lalonde during last year’s March collapse.
  6. The Atlantic is a scramble.
  7. Off to overtime. Need to convert here for a perfect road trip
  8. Not over yet. Shane Wright makes it 4-3. Wright, after dropping to 4th overall in the 2022 draft, is finally cracking the Seattle lineup fulltime. 10G 17A 27Pts in 52 games this season.
  9. A 3-2 lead after 2, with the Wings looking pretty good. They are outshooting Seattle 21-12.
  10. Wings-Kraken are tied at 1 midway through the 1st. With Tampa and Boston winning and Florida losing earlier tonight, there is a chance for the Wings to pull within 6 points of the division lead with a win and for the top 6 teams in the Atlantic to be separated by only 7 points.
  11. World Baseball Classic should not be impacted. 🙂
  12. I’m just not feeling it. Misses the Russians being in it. I cheer for Team Canada at the Olympics like I did at the Canada Cup before that, but world juniors for example I like to see others win.
  13. It’s very Tigers-esque, isn’t it. By my count, Wings had 13 wins in 34 games under Lalonde but already 14 wins in 19 games under McLellan. Including since Dec 29 both a 7 game win streak and now a 6 game win streak.
  14. Overtime. Wings were outplayed in the 3rd period.
  15. Wishing him a comfortable, long recovery.
  16. That would be fine, he got an assist last night and no one can be take that away from him.
  17. I’m listening to Ken and Paul from comfort of Montreal hotel room after 9 hour drive from Sarnia today. Fatigue is setting in for me and it’s only the 2nd period!
  18. 1-0 for the month so far. At the Canucks tonight. 8 games this month. Will be off Febr 9-21 for the Four Nations break.
  19. An ENG by Copp and the Wings win 5-5, their 5th straight victory.
  20. Wings are 17-1-1 when leading after the 2nd period.
  21. Wings maintained their 2-0 lead until 12 minutes left in regulation, but a Flames powerplay goal has cut it to 2-1. I am in Sarnia this weekend and game is on tv, but instead I’m listening to it on the radio in my childhood bedroom. Like I did for countless Tigers and Wings games from the West Coast in the ‘70s and ‘80s
  22. Late game tonight, Wings doing well so far. Lead Calgary 2-0 after 1.
  23. We had the Russian Five, the Canucks now have the Pettersson Three. Centre Elias Pettersson, defenseman Elias Pettersson (dubbed D Petey by fans) and defenseman Marcus Pettersson.
