  1. They've been shut out 4 of their past 5 games.
  2. Dan and Andy call of the walkoff walk! Torres walkoff walk.mp3
  3. Astros' ghost runner goes poof in the top of the 10th. Advantage Tigers. Go win it NOW!!
  4. 4 balls in play by the Tigers in the 9th inning, the Astros made an adventure of all of them. Extra innings we go.
  5. 9 scoreless innings. Go win it now!
  6. Seattle has lost and is now 6 games back of the Tigers, with Houston 4 games back of the Tigers pending the outcome of this game. Man, the bye into the ALDS is sitting there for the Tigers to grab. Find a way to win tonight and then again tomorrow and it would be all but theirs with 33 games to go.
  7. Not to jinx things, but the Astros haven’t scored a run in 23 innings.
  8. Would hurt to strand a leadoff triple.
  9. Struck out the side in the 5th. Skubal got angry against the 7-8-9 hitters.
  10. Scoreless, but not exactly a scorching pitcher’s duel.
  11. Happy to be wrong. Was the jersey flapping and hit the ball that way?
  12. He’s safe. Ball was there in time.
  13. Dan says should be only a short delay. MLB.com shows it now as Warmup. "Tonight's game will begin in a delay" wording never sits right with me. The game will be delayed, the game's start will be delayed, or the game will begin after a delay.
  14. Dan Dickerson is superb. I love his voice, tone, style and knowledge. I will give him a pass on missed calls like last night because he admitted it right away. He reads the ball off the bat well and rarely does an excited jump in his voice end up with a fly ball that doesn’t at least threaten the fence. I think my only complaint about Dan is that he tends to really react a lot now to whether a ball or strike was called correctly. Sometimes without first letting those following by radio only what the call was. Example:”ooooo, that seemed to JUST miss the bottom corner”. Did he go “oooo” because the pitcher made a good pitch that was just a bit off, or did he go oooo because the pitch just missed the strike zone but was called a strike anyways.
  15. Sweeney was rated the Dodgers’ #22 prospect by Baseball America or #28 by MLB Pipeline at the time he was acquired with Liranzo. Given that, playing 130 MLB games like he already has for the Tigers is more than I would have expected for his entire career.
  16. Agreed. I had been to about 10 games in the summer and you wouldn’t even realize it had a roof. Then went to the opening series this season and knew the roof would be closed but didn’t know I’d still be exposed to the elements, lol, just no rain.
  17. Over the past 21 games the Tigers' 14-7 record (.667) is the best record in the AL and tied with San Diego for 2nd in MLB behind Milwaukee. Since the night of July 26 when the Tigers fell to 60-46, as of this moment but with some of this evening's games still in progress, they have picked up in the standings: - 0.5 game on KC - 1.5 games on Boston - 2.0 games on Cleveland - 2.0 games on Seattle - 2.0 games on the Athletics - 2.5 games on NY Yankees - 2.0 games on Baltimore - 3.0 games on LA Angels - 4.0 games on Toronto - 4.5 games on Houston - 5.5 games on Minnesota - 5.5 games on Tampa Bay - 7.0 games on Texas - 7.0 games on Chicago White Sox
  18. Toronto TV showed him motioning to the dugout and clutching his hamstring before the game during warmups. Then stretched for a ball at first base and seemed to aggravate. Then was replaced midway through the game. They're calling it "hamstring tightness" for now.
  19. Yes, the Jays won the season series 4-3. The Detroit Tigers: first in your hearts, first in the American League.
  20. And Vlad Jr. has left the game with a hamstring problem. Jays lose.
  21. Tigers win! 4-game lead for the bye into the ALDS!
  22. Keith had a really slow start, so to now be sitting at .783 OPS for the season is an impressive fight back.
