  1. If we are going to be your 51st state, at least wine and dine and firework us on our big day.
  2. Surely the Canucks need to move Lankinen now. Just a few months ago they signed him to 5 x $4.5. That is a lot of money for one position
  3. Hope that doesn’t cancel their Canada Day fireworks.
  4. I wonder if it was from trying to catch Skubal’s only hit.
  5. Leafs get Nic Roy who has 2 years left at $3mm.
  6. Yeah, length doesn’t make sense. But I suspect their capoligist factored in a future buyout to make the math work, win now, take the cap hit into the future when their window has finally closed.
  7. I'd take Boeser for sure, but no idea if the Wings are in on him.
  8. Yeah, Leafs fans are crowing this is a steal but is it really? Sure, 58 pts last season which is damn good for a 22 year old late 2nd rounder. But one season like that playing with Marner and now we are certain he is going to be a star? https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/new-matthew-knies-contract-another-early-win-for-maple-leafs-negotiating/
  9. For the month of June, the Tigers won 5 series (all by a 2-1 margin), lost 2 series (all by a 2-1 margin) and split 1 series (4-gamer vs Chicago White Sox). Also on the 1st day of June beat KC in the tiebreaker of a 3-game series, which I didn't count. 15-11 record (0.577, 93 win pace) for the month. At 53-32, through 85 games the 2025 Tigers are 4 games behind the '06 Tigers, 4 games behind the '84 Tigers and 3 games behind the '68 Tigers.
  10. Tigers win. Excellent showcase for the national audience.
  11. 7 strikeouts in a row! Skubal is untouchable.
  12. If I was to get injured and be forced off the job, I might gain 25 pounds from eating chips and beer.
  13. I think any of Detroit, NY Yankees, Tampa or Houston could win the pennant. I think there's a big gap between them and the other 11 teams.
  14. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45590255/2025-mlb-detroit-tigers-best-team-roundtable-al-pennant-world-series “If you picked the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers to be the first team to win 50 games this MLB season, you weren't alone. You were also wrong. If you picked the Detroit Tigers, congratulations! We're not sure we believe you, but we'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The Tigers won their 50th game on Tuesday, a full day before the Dodgers, and they got there thanks to big contributions all season from ace Tarik Skubal, the red-hot Riley Greene and the resurgent Javier Baez, among many others. But are they really as good as they've played so far? Are they even the American League's best team? Could they defeat the Dodgers (or whichever team comes out of a stacked National League) in the World Series? We asked MLB experts Bradford Doolittle, Tim Keown, Jeff Passan and David Schoenfield to tackle all things Tigers before they play host to the Minnesota Twins on "Sunday Night Baseball" (7 p.m. ET, ESPN and ESPN2).
  15. Guardians blasted 7-0. Tigers’ lead is up to 11, which I believe is the season high.
  16. 14-11 for the month of June, 7-7 in past 14, lets have a nice solid win to cap the month and head into July. I turn 58 tomorrow and while the Tigers won’t win my age in time for my birthday, 53 wins by the end of June would be superb.
  17. Guardians have blown a 6-1 lead against St. Louis, now trail 8-6 in the 7th.
  18. So the Tigers’ AL lead is 2.0 over Houston and 4.0 over NY Yankees and the Tigers’ AL Central lead is 10.0 over Cleveland and 11.5 over Minnesota. Half a game behind LA Dodgers for best record in MLB.
  19. Tigers win! The Saturday curse is lifted.
  20. I have no recollection of Juan Acevedo. Shows how much I had drifted away from following the Tigers closely prior to 2006.
  21. 6th time in past 14 games with 8 or more runs.
  22. Correa homers. Javy is still having a better season than him though.
