  1. Another 3rd period comeback versus the Isles. Raymond gives the Wings the lead.
  2. 2-1 NYI after 2. This is an opponent the Wings are actually capable of defeating, so can’t let another 2 pts slip away.
  3. Carolina is down to their 3rd string goalie and looking. Offer them their choice of Lyon or Talbot and call up Cossa to back up the one who stays?
  4. Yep, that could make sense. I forgot to embed the Twitter post that prompted my question.
  5. And another time last night, Philly stopped LA on 3rd down inside the 5 and seemed to initially decline the offensive holding penalty. Then when LA lined up to go for it on 4th down, Philly ended up accepting the penalty (broadcast explanation was that perhaps Siriani never actually declined the penalty and it may have just been the refs assuming he would decline it- still, seemed like a too-long 30-second lag).
  6. Lions are a better team and playing much better than they were this time last year. Last Thanksgiving, they were in the midst of a 4-3 stretch that included a blowout loss at Baltimore, a defense-free wild win over the Chargers, the improbable comeback win over the Bears after a 57-minute dud, the Thanksgiving spanking by Green Bay that wasn't as close as the 7-point final score suggests, and a spanking at Chicago.
  7. I think it has been like that in Canada for about 20 years now. With the exception of an arena in Quebec City that opened nine years ago and is underutilized, almost all funding for new builds and renos has been from private investors and commercial lenders. Now and then you'll see a team be able to wrangle a new highway exit or something like that from provincial funds. Edit: Actually, screw that. Turns out Edmonton's arena of a few years ago was half-funded by the city. How did that happen? No appetite for that in Vancouver I know. https://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_events/rogers_place/the-agreement
  8. That’s a very good point. A Bears OT win yesterday over the Vikings would have been golden, with the Lions then being able to effectively wrap up the division if they beat Chicago and Green Bay the next two Thursdays.
  9. Vildor yesterday gave me 2023 flashbacks. We need Davis for Green Bay and Buffalo. I don’t care if he has to miss the Chicago game to fully recover.
  10. Anything on the Rangers of interest to the Wings? And vice versa?
  11. In the four games before Dallas, the Lions gave up an average of 20.5 points per game. In the six games after Dallas, the Lions have given up an average of 15.3 points per game.
  12. I sure wish the Giants hadn’t decided to move on from Saquon Barkley. 255 rushing yards tonight. He has also caught 4 passes for 47 yards, so over 300 yards in total.
  13. The Lions could mathematically clinch a playoff spot by next Sunday, with 5 games to spare! They just have to beat Chicago and have a few other results this week. Of course practically speaking they are almost certainly already in, even if they were to sit out their final 6 games and finish 10-7.
  14. Through 2019. And didn’t play in 2020. Sure 2021-2023 aren’t factors. https://www.cleveland.com/osu/2019/11/ohio-state-michigan-betting-line-history.html
  15. Haha, Cowboys just gave up an 86 yard TD with 21 seconds to go. Commanders can tie with an extra point. And even more hahaha - Washington misses the extra point! Just wild.
  16. Bears might have just recovered an onside kick, down 3 with 21 seconds to go.
  17. Smart holding by the Colts. Saved them about 50 yards of field possession.
  18. I just wish it was mid-January already.
  19. Colts have a 2nd and 20. Have the Lions just where they want them.
  20. Wow, Montgomery got an extra 8 yards on that.
  21. Yeah, “smartly takes a sack” is a commentary I disagree with. He knew he was in trouble and had a chance to get rid of it before cycling back.
