  1. Cleveland, KC or Minnesota would have to be the best or very nearly the best team in MLB the rest of the way. Looking only at Cleveland, because they're 2.5 up on Minnesota and 3 up on KC, the Guardians would need to go 51-32 (.614) in their final 83 games to get to 91-71. The Tigers and Dodgers are tied for the best record in baseball and both have gone 51-31 to start the year, no other team is closer than 2.5 games to that. The Tigers are going to win the AL Central division comfortably; my concern that will be keep me interested in the standings all summer is that the Tigers stay ahead of either Houston (2.5 games behind the Tigers currently) or the AL East leader (NY Yankees 4.0 games behind the Tigers currently, Tampa 4.5) in order to get a bye into the ALDS.
  2. Tigers are 13-10 so far for the month of June. 12 home games, 11 road games. Funny, I would have been a bit of disappointed in that at the beginning of the month, given what seems to have been a favourable schedule, but it's still .565 ball for the month, or 92 win pace for the month.
  3. A win for Dietrich from Frankfort (Illinois).
  4. Tigers win! Only the 2nd outing for Vest since the injury scare 11 days. But has retired all 6 batters combined in those 2 appearances, 4 of them on strikeouts.
  5. 7 or more runs for the 6th time in past 12 games.
  6. And Copp's injury in late February happened to coincide with the Wings' slide the rest of the way.
  7. I was worried for no reason. Routine fly ball and a double play and the Tigers Enns-cape the 3rd without allowing a run.
  8. The number 8 and 9 hitters get on for the A's to start the 3rd. Not good.
  9. Especially if the Canucks and Demko work out an extension, which I had previously thought was less than 50/50. https://canucksarmy.com/news/dreger-progress-been-made-multi-year-extension-between-demko-vancouver-canucks-silovs-could-play
  10. Failure to get the out on the stolen base bites the Tigers.
  11. What a difference in 3 years. I get ill seeing that ‘22 lineup.
  12. If the Tigers go on to win the World Series this season, I might look back on the June night when Wenceel had 2 putouts the same inning and ended the game with a sliding catch the same way I look back on the June night in ‘84 when Dave Bergman’s long at-bat culminated in a walkoff home run.
  13. 50 wins! No matter what happens in tomorrow’s game, the Tigers have played the 1st half of the season on 100-win pace or better.
  14. 6th time in the past 10 games the Tigers have scored at least 7 runs.
  15. Dingler dong! 3-run lead
  16. Just like the 1970s. I think weekday starts at Tiger Stadium weren’t switched to 7:30 until the 1980s or maybe not even until the 1990s.
  17. LOL, if I were the Wings I'd do this in a split second. If Dallas trades Robertson they'll surely get better than this "proposal".
  18. Trade for Dobson, sign Boeser, and send Larkin, Compher, Rasmussen, Holl, Soderblom, Johansson and a 2025 2nd to Vancouver for Pettersson, Tyler Myers and Thatcher Demko.
  19. I was reading Ansar Khan in MLive today: ““The players teams would want are the ones Yzerman isn’t going to move: Dylan Larkin (has a full no-movement clause), Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, Moritz Seider, Simon Edvinsson, Marco Kasper, Axel Sandin Pellikka.” I actually don’t think any of them should be off the table, for the right deal. A non-playoff team should not have 7 untouchables.
  20. I think Michigan's 4th down stop in OT to win the Rose Bowl over Alabama and advance to the National Championship game is right up there, although I recognize that not all Detroit sports fans cheer for Michigan.
  21. It’s raining extra base hits. 5 extra base hits this inning after Baez triples.
