Assuming the Guardians lose one of the next three, it will still have been a successful season for them, just like it was for the Tigers. An AL Central title, a bye into the ALDS, winning a playoff round, getting the fans excited. Something to build on. Like the Tigers, they will have some work this offseason to add a roster with 5 more wins.

Helm was only 26. Brendan Smith was 24 and there was still some hope for him. Jurco was 20 and had played 36 NHL games in the 2024 season Sproul, Marchenko and Oulett were a wave of well thought of defense prospects all either 20 or 21 in net, Howard was 29 and in his prime , Kronwall and Zetterberg were 32 so had a few years left in them.
