Wasn't the main reason, or really only reason, Moore was hired was for "continuity"? To maintain the program at a high level coming off a national championship and minimize transfer outs. If this year was a write-off anyways, then they could have looked elsewhere. Fans after the past 3 years would overlook a couple steps backwards this year if it meant building for the future. But instead I see a staff floundering even with some talent, whereas next year's talent level almost assuredly will be lower. Doesn't bode well unless they replace Moore after this season, which I don't see happening. Washington is playing in a new conference, lost its head coach, most of its talent from last season graduated and that which didn't instead transferred. But new coach inheriting bare cupboard has them at 4-2 also and playing better than Michigan.
