Doesn't matter how good the people at the top are. The candidate won't listen to them anyway. He knows better than everyone. They can't control what he's going to say and do. It's total chaos. The reason they are acting like this is for the first time in 8 years, every time he farts something it isn't the top story anymore. The media has turned their attention away and I think he's in shock. So he and JD just go on the attack and some of their attacks are only going to play with the alread-converted. The rest of America is kind of sick of that stuff. But Trump just doesn't and can't connect with the young vote (and Biden wasn't either). The term is Youthquake and he's an old brick building with a stiff foundation. Kamala is modern, sleek, youthful, energetic, joyful - all the things he's not. Walz is folksy, in a real way, something Shady Vance can't even fake. All their eggs were in the "He's Too Old" basket and now Trump is the basket.

Okay, Mr. Trump.............I know it's strange, but it's referred to as "smiling". You take the two sides of your mouth and curve them upward. I know it will hurt as you practice because you've never used those muscles before, but people tend to like it. It usually comes after pleasant or happy thoughts and we found some really good footage from Nazi marches in the 30's for you to watch, but yes, a lot of people do this "smiling" thing and we really think you should do this the next time you think about posting something.

There's no energy behind him now. Kamala has Obamaesque energy, which we haven't seen in 16 years. It's the energy from young voters who just woke up. I think most people in the center understand there is no easy fix for the border and any proposal put forth by Biden/Harris will never be accepted because the Republican don't want to see them succeed at that. Trump had four years to fix it and he didn't and Mexico still hasn't paid for a wall.

Nixon started it with the Southern Strategy........playing off that racist response to Johnson selling out the good ol boys for the Civil Rights Act. (Actually, it was a brilliant move by Nixon - if only he wasn't so morally bankrupt). Reagan demonized the word Liberal and turned compassion into a perceived weakness (the opposite of WWJD)...........Rush Limabaugh & New Gingrich amplified it..........Trump galvanized it. No longer have to be shy about their racist, sexist, bigoted motivations. Now they scream it. It's a badge of honor. The Republicans flirted with this for years and laughed and now it sucked them all down the drain and they can't climb out of it. It went from Dog Whistle to Bullhorn.

You ain't gettin' that back. It done sold it's soul to that Orange Devil. They should have fought harder to keep that bastard away. Only shot you got is a Centrist party, but a lot of "normal" Republicans are lost. They can't win primaries and there aren't enough of them to make a real dent. They're the party of Conspiracies and Flat Earthers now. Somehow they work Jesus into their silly arguments, but they sucker enough people with that to keep it going. With the internet around, that ain't changing.

1. Women Voters (yeah, one side keeps doing everything they can to alienate, the other is Kam & Tim). 2. Young Voters (old white guys with no platform don't inspire them) 3. Suburban Voters. (the ones in Kansas blew out a Trump-loving Sheriff yesterday).

I guess my ride home from Ann Arbor to Dearborn might need a detour.

Democrats (barring any scandals or mistakes) Shapiro, Whitmer, Beshear, Wes Moore (he'll rise quickly) and Newsom. Republicans - Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz. Problem for them is - how close or far away from Trump do they want to be. Kansas voters just blew out a very Pro-Trump sheriff in a primary yesterday - one that was considered untouchable 4 years ago. Gotta be pro-Trump to usually win a primary, but it kills you in a General. In Kansas, the Republicans probably hold that Sheriff position because the Pro Trump guy is gone for the General.

Maybe Shapiro thinks being a Governor is a better long-term road to any Presidential ambitions than being a Vice President in these incendiary times. Maybe he'd rather be an executive than an executive-in-waiting. VP can sort of be a dead-end. I think it was John Nance Garner who said the Vice Presidency wasn't worth a warm bucket of p*ss. Maybe Walz just lined up better. I think Shapiro was more responsible for that decision than Harris, actually.
