  1. It's just one game, but I think Belichick's success was mostly because of Brady - and I don't even give him too much credit for drafting Brady since he passed on him 7 times before taking their shot. Bill's record without TB12 as starting QB is something like 89-103 and its 0-1 on the college level. The Phil Jackson and Joe Torre of Football.
  2. Twilight Zone time for me too. Maybe it'll chill me out after that. I mean, right down the middle to Soto. Moron.
  3. I am so ****ing pissed right now. He throws a cookie right down the middle to SOTO ? What the hell was that? You couldn't get him with that even before your AARP day.
  4. Great trade, Scott. Great trade deadline, too.
  5. You ****ing BUM. You have this guy at 1-2 and you throw a ****ing piece of meat like that. **** this guy. He sucks and I don't want him anywhere near the rotation in the postseason.
  6. Chase Lee. In Toledo yesterday, coming into the 5th inning today. No doubt. Morton is not coming out for another inning, even if he does get that DP.
  7. Okay, 1 out. Bases still loaded. Inning-ending Double Play time, right?
  8. I saw the Mets play the Tigers at Tiger Stadium on a midweek afternoon. I can tell you the exact date, it was July 2, 1997. I can't remember the score, I think we won 9-6, but I do remember 3 very specific things about that day 1 - The orange outline on the numbers on the Mets uniforms were really sharp. I was sitting right by their on-deck circle. 2 - Melvin Nieves hit a Home Run into the CF upper deck bleachers that day. I had never seen that before. I and it was a line drive, too. I think the humidity may have helped...........and speaking of humidity, 3 - All hell broke loose that day. During the game, the hair on your arm would stand up because the air was supercharged. It was slowly darkening all afternoon. As I drove home, I saw a line of very dark skies heading to the east. I lived in Dearborn (still do), and its a 15 minute drive. Just as I got home the sky started getting greenish. That OH **** greenish thing that's very very bad. I turned on the news and saw all the weather warnings. Then the sky got really green and black and it was one of only two times I have gone to my basement because of weather. They showed a shot from Tiger Stadium where it looked like night and the rain was sideways. A tornado had touched down about 2 miles north of there and it skipped through Highland Park, Hamtramck, and Grosse Pointe some people were killed.
  9. We need Skubal to get back to being Skubal today
  10. Flaherty just seems to have the one bad inning. He'll be zooming along, have a terrible inning and then he's fine, but it seems to do so much damage.
  11. Massive Win. I thought after last weekend they kind of clinched it all and then got worried, but this, this was huge. Just give me one more this weekend. But what the f is it about the ****ing A's. man? They just can't seem to beat them, no matter where they play.
  12. I remember watching that game. I was 8 months old, but I totally remember it
  13. The Pirates need to make it official and just extend him as manager. He's doing a really good job.
  14. not the only kind of pot with Tommy V. Sadly, he hit the bottle hard too.
  15. Look at this rookie card. Never saw Keith without a mustache before
  16. Beyond The Box Score ranks their 10 worst players and 5 of them played for the Tigers (and I remember four) #10 Tom Veryzer, #8 Gary Sutherland, #4 Tuck Stainback #3 Danny Meyer and #2 Doug Flynn In fact, our DP combo in 1975 was Veryzer/Sutherland (wonder why they lost 109 games). Two years later was the debut of the greatest DP combo in MLB history https://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2012/7/9/3139176/worst-players-in-baseball-history What I remember about Danny Meyer is that neck rolling thing he'd do at every at bat. Does anyone else remember that? Veryzer helped me win a bet. Someone bet me that I didn't know who we traded him to the Indians for. It was Charlie Spikes.
  17. I've been saying all season that he'd never pitch for the Tigers. Wow, what an embarrassing signing. Very Yzerman-esque.
  18. Yeah, It's a bust, but nothing too team-altering. They gambled on a few players and won so they need to get an L sometimes too. I am on the verge of calling Levi a pretty big bust. You need more out of a 2nd round pick, especially a higher pick. It may be a health thing, but even when he was healthy he didn't seem too impactful. I feel like when you are bad and drafting high, you need more than a rotational guy from the 2nd round.
  19. Tigers open vs. Padres in 2026. I love the fact the MLB wants a World Series rematch for the opening weekend !
  20. I wouldn't touch Byron Buxton. NEVER healthy.
  21. Is it me, or can the Tigers NEVER seem to beat the A's on the road, no matter where that is. Just never. It seems like it. Do they just mentally check out when they play this team?
  22. I don't think Detroit's defense is anywhere close to the Top 5. I think it could be in the bottom 10, but I guess we'll see. This team is going to have to score a lot of points and have long time-consuming drives. And that is what they are built to do. Is Hendon Hooker the biggest draft bust in Brad's tenure with the Lions?
  23. Horrible streaming. Let the stream play for about 4 or 5 minutes and the audio and video are completely out of synch and you have to exit and go back in. Plus where there is no ad to fill the time they have this title card with sports sound effects that just keeps playing. Um, why not 30 second or 60 second or 15 second highlights?
