Hinch is Dr. Frankenstein and the roster is The Monster. Outside of Greene, Torres and Rogers (sort of), the rest of the team is just going to be pieced together and it's either going to dazzle us with a stirring rendition of Puttin On The Ritz or it's going to freak out at the sight of fire and destroy everything.

The level of detail in Better Call Saul was incredible. That's one of the things that makes it so great - that they cared SO MUCH about that. Plus the editing in that show was better than any series or TV movie ever. 0 Emmy wins. I don't understand that. Actors get nominated for specific episodes. The producers submit one episode for a character per season. The fact that Michael McKean didn't even get a nomination at any time is actually criminal. The Chicanery episode alone was amazing. He's one of the most underappreciated actors of all time. It's like they're using the fact he was Lenny Kosnowski in Laverne & Shirley against him. The characters were silly, bu he was great in that too. Looking forward to Spinal Tap 2 and hope they didn't wreck their legacy. There are too many smart people wrapped up in that to think that it'll be bad. I can't see Christopher Guest agreeing to do it if it was bad.

Little Pussy, LOL

It is excellent. It was initially supposed to be an ER reboot (John Wells is attached as EP) and Noah Wyle was going to be John Carter. But Michael Crichton's estate nixed it, so they moved it to a different city and changed Wyle's character. Not only the name, but other details as well. The Crichton estate is suing. So that means any TV show that centers around an ER is automatically theirs now? I don't think so. It's excellent and I don't mind the medical jargon, I worked at a hospital for a decade and know some of it, but a lot of it is newer too, the reason for a new reboot is how things have changed in 10 years. What I don't know, I look up and I love that. They are not dumbing it down. Thanks for that. Too many dumbed down TV shows on as it is. It would be hilarious if old ER cast member started popping up in cameos as an F-You to Crichton's estate for the lawsuit. They were pretty loyal to John Wells. I loved that they brought up the Freedom House Ambulance Service. They were the true first paramedics, but they were staffed by black medics in black neighborhoods so it took a long time for them to get recognized. The Pitt is doing a great job of being about Pittsburgh. A ton of little details.

Let's say it wasn't Gibby's choice to leave. You know what? I'm fine with that. There comes a time when all of us won't be able to keep up anymore. For most of us it will be age. Most people avoid this by retiring when they get the chance, but for those of us who love what we do, there will be a time where we just can't do it anymore and when that happens, the ones who don't recognize it will be asked to leave. It sucks for Gibby, but it was pretty clear last year that he was really struggling. Doesn't make the Tigers the bad guys here. They didn't do it for personal reasons, they likely didn't do it to save money, they did it because it was painfully clear. Parkinsons' Sucks.

Seeing betting lines when I go look up the box score. Seriously, you've got to be a total degenerate to gamble on exhibition baseball. Your finances resting on a lineup full of guesses.
-
He needs a fresh start somewhere else. He had a great spring last year, but when Olson beat him out, something just snapped with him and the Tigers. It's like his whole career is at stake with every pitch he throws and you can't pitch like that.

I am thinking the 2025 AL Central will see 1st place through 4th place separated by only 5 or 6 games. Maybe even less. And with the Yankees losing Soto and Cole, I don't know if there's a 90 win team in the AL. We could see as many as 9 teams between 82 and 89 wins this year

Those broadcasts are very long days. A lot of people think they show up 30 minutes before the game and just talk about baseball. Not if you are serious about your work and Gibby never half-assed anything. He was probably at the park before noon and probably didn't leave until an hour after the game is over. All that while dealing with the effects of Parkinson's AND the side effects of the Parkinson's meds. Those meds make people exhausted and then the Parky makes it hard to get real sleep. It's a Catch-22. My guess is the Tigers probably went to Gibby and said "Do you really want to put yourself through this so much?" and he probably agreed it was too much. Tough to see a spirited guy get so slowly cut down like this, but he did not sound good last year and I am not angry about that, because his insights were still pretty spot-on, but it made me sad to hear him struggle like that. He'll still be connected in some way.

I think Ibanez is a lock.

Expecting guys who are absolutely going to be on the OD roster to lock in like normal is asking a lot. Spring Training can fool ya. Mike Laga was the King of Spring. Hit .199 over 9 MLB seasons with never more than 6 Home Runs in a season.

or maybe Flaherty is tinkering with a few things that he won't be doing when they start counting.
-
They are trying to cut down his mileage. But, if you really only need to do this for 2-3 weeks, shouldn't you?
-
Yes, it is. With Baddoo down, who else is there to pair with Perez? Jones or Kreidler. Yeesh. Greene is only playing center at the end of a game if there are no other options. I sense a (minor) trade coming). Or maybe just an outright release of Kreidler or McKinstry.

LOL. I don't think Meadows has that kind of injury, where it's a toughness issue. It's a nerve thing, right? Those injuries are totally unpredictable. This hurts because the version of Meadows from the last two months of the season is an All-Star. I can't see Perez being the every day CF. It's between Jones or Kreidler. Kreidler has the advantage because he's already on the 40-man roster, but I've never seen much from him. They could go find someone and make a small trade. How about Matthew Gregory Vierling? How close is he? He's pretty valuable to this team.
-
Something tells me this Meadows injury is a lot worse than we know.
-
Not too worried about Jordan Balazovich not getting anyone out.
-
What is the latest on Meadows?

It's funny that we move Keith to 1b because he was a below average defensive 2b. There were only 3 second baseman worse at Defensive Runs Saved than Keith. One of them was Gleyber Torres. I hope Torres hits, because that move still doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Maybe he just needed out of NYC.

Because McStinky can play in the OF. If only J-Hen could play Center, but since he can't play Left or Right, I'm thinking it's a non-starter
-
DING ! I was in 10th or 11th grade. As big a Tiger fan as I was, I had never heard of him, but he played before I was born and he was basically Zack McKinstry. I remember him being nice, but he was kind of a depressed guy.
-
If Meadows isn't throwing this week, then is he going to have enough time to be ready for Opening Day? 13 position players (I don't see them going with less than 13 pitchers) C (2) - Rogers, Dinger OF (4) - Greene, Carpenter, Perez, Meadows (or Jones) INF (7) - Keith, Torres, Sweeney, Ibanez, Tork, McKinstry, Baez Once Vierling gets back, I guess that means Jones goes. Plus there's Jace Jung, who I think will start in Toledo. I don't know, I sense a trade is going to happen at some point. The infield is kind of a mess. I hope Baez can show us something.

Okay. Back in 1982 my mom dated a former Tiger player. They dated for a couple of months. See if you can guess who it is - Backup infielder. - Grew up in Windsor - Played from 1953 - 1961 for the Tigers, Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins, and Kansas City A's. - Wound up scouting for the Tigers and had a 1968 World Series ring that he showed me (when he was scouting). Who is it?
-
I've really got my doubts about Kreidler. I would really prefer Jones over him as the CF option to pair with Perez.

You mean because "reasons" ?
