I'd give it 90 seconds, but if it was that close that looking at it for 90 seconds doesn't change it, then it's not clear evidence. And no New York. You hire a retired referee and a tech expert and put them in each stadium and make sure that neither one of them has any ties to the teams playing. Whistle blows, clock starts, if there are technical glitches, well, too bad. Lots of historic games were decided on close or bad calls. It's the human element. Even the idea of a retired ref brings me pause, because I don't think they want to make their referee friends look bad, but they do have the credibility and they know the rules (hopefully). You only need 16 of 'em.

Gonna need money to pay those fines.

The impending death of Bally Sports
Motor City Sonics replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Well, the idea that wanting fewer people to have access to your product is a good idea is absurd. This isn't diamonds here, this is baseball, it's not elitist, but if that's what they want, well, good luck with that. More viewers = higher commercial royalties = more profit. Why do you think they charge so much for a Super Bowl ad. (oh, sorry, Big Game, don't sue me, NFL). When it was Fox Sports I could watch the Tigers, every single game. Sinclair came along and took that option away, so excuse me for celebrating their downfall. I hope they rot. If they had a great business model, then they'd be in a better place. I even paid for their stupid streaming channel for one month. I thought $20 was worth it as a Tiger fan. It was nothing but issue after issue. It was one of the most poorly designed apps/streaming channels I've ever dealt with, so I cancelled it. Couldn't log on half the time. I'd have to change my password, it would suddenly stop, I'd try to log in again and I would have to go change my password --- again. Plus, on more than one occasion, it got stuck in a commercial loop and I had to shut it down, and login again. Couldn't get any response from them at all. Oh, it doesn't play nice with Amazon Fire Stick. Are you kidding me? Nobody uses those things. And your idea that Sinclair radio and TV are different? They are run by the same people at the top. -
Shhh Shhh Shh..............nobody move.................I think it's here..................

She's getting all pissy now over the reaction to her look, accusing people of Ageism? Really? If you are so against Ageism, why are you having so much radical plastic surgery? She's an absolutely brilliant woman, but she just annoys the hell out me sometimes.

Well, I do understand that I can't see Tigers games on You Tube TV and I am not alone, there are thousands or hundreds of thousands of baseball fans shut out. That's dumb. You want to make deals that have MORE viewers not less, but I am familiar through some radio friends about the cultish aspects of Sinclair. They play themselves off as religious, but they are devious..... -

Plus the NFL realized the cost of going to a game was out of reach for a lot of people, so watching on TV was their only option. Droping the home blackout rule was one of the smartest moves ever. It ain't the pace of play that's the problem, one of the reasons to go to or watch/listen to a ballgame is just to relax and soak it in. The two most beloved radio broadcasters of all time were Vin Scully and Ernie Harwell...........they talked to you like a friend, they didn't scream and yell to oversell. Dan Dickerson is great at that, he only pitches it up when it's REAL. But what do I know, I'm just a simp in the the suburbs. -
Good riddance. You'd probably increase your profit if you just made a deal with YouTube TV and a few other streamers, but no, go ahead and hold out for a few bucks. Well, looks like you could have used those extra bucks now, eh? Sinclair is a terrible company. I had a friend that worked for a Sinclair radio station who said it was like a cult. And this stupid blackout rule by MLB TV? Can't even watch your team when they are on the road. WHAT? Um, what decade are you in? The NFL realized it was a stupid idea years ago. Preventing people from seeing their home team at all is not the way to build or treat a fan base. This ain't the 70s. Get with it. Rob Manfred is the worst sports commish in my lifetime. I don't know, you guys and gals are obviously sports fan, can you think of a worse one?

I really don't understand why radio operates the way it does...........music radio. Everytime I worked at a station where we EXPANDED our playlist, the ratings went up, Every. Single. Time. Classic Rock Radio. 50 years of Rock & Roll - represented by 250 songs. It sucks. It's a joke.

Robin Zander had a song called Reactionary Girl around 1993..................I know John Wesley Harding LOVED that song. He would go on and on about it.

Other than the Hall of Fame night, have Robin, Rick and Tom made up with Bun E. Carlos? Hate seeing that happen.

So if I order General Tsao chicken for dinner this weekend, is it gonna be like Larry & Jeff eating Palestinian Chicken?

Last week on my Under The Radar show I featured the new White Reaper album and they were/are heavily influenced by Cheap Trick, so I played Dream Police. We're not a Classic Rock station. Got a few positive emails about it. I guess the classic rock stations don't play them anymore. Wonder why, most of their songs were radio-perfect.

I think Biden is doing a fantastic job. Old Sleepy Joe (OSJ) is exactly what we needed after the chaos of 2017-2021. The only "scandals" are some shit about his son that happened a long time ago, and really isn't much of a scandal, the whole balloon thing, well, he shot it down, Trump did not - 3 times. To me, that whole nonsense is more Spy vs. Spy than anything else (if you are young look it up) and really, to me the biggest scandal, if you can call it that, is the airline computer meltdown, but I don't really blame Joe or Pete for that. Inflation? Well, that's a worldwide problem. And it's funny...........most people want a higher wage and want people to get paid better...........and to ween ourselves away from relying on Chinese goods. Well, OSJ is making those moves, but since we actually try to pay a reasonable wage for manufacturing in this country, if you want to shut out China, it's going to cost you more for the products. And I find it ironic that the guy who bitched about Old Sleepy Joe the and gave him the nickname is only 3 years younger and will be older than Biden in 2024 when he runs for President, than Biden was in 2020. Isn't it ironic? Yeah, I really do think. Plus he is surgical with this Social Security/Medicare issue. Even Mitch McConnell is siding with him on that. I'll take Old Sleepy Joe over Con Man Game Show Host who is not a Billionaire any day. I knew he was a fraud back in the 80s. He was just an annoyance then.

Very good speech by Hamlin.............especially considering that he's a clone (or some shit like that).

R.I.P. Burt Bacharach............one of the greatest songwriters ever........defining a sound and inspiring so many others. You hear his fingerprints on so much music that came after him. I can forgive him for the most sexist song ever (Wives & Lovers) because he did not write the lyrics. What a legend.

I worked for a radio station owned by Disney. They are evil. Pure evil. South Park's depiction of "Mr. Mouse" is far closer to the truth than anyone would like to admit.

I don't know. I am of the belief that free speech protects you from arrest or governmental punishment. It doesn't protect you from backlash you might get from people and private companies who are merely expressing their own free speech in not wanting to be involved with you. Media companies/networks never used to profit off the news, in fact it often was a profit loss, but they considered it important. Now they are another wing of the entertainment division, and an entertainment company can sell whatever they want to you. You now have thousands of options to get news or entertainment and if a media/"news" division is saying things you don't like, you can turn elsewhere. But Free Speech is not and never has been absolute. Using speech to knowingly plan a crime is not covered. Charles Manson thought free speech would protect him from the murders he ordered. He told his people what to do and then left. Free speech isn't covered when a kid makes a bomb threat or shooting threat to a school because he used that free speech to commit the crime of false reporting (we've had a huge wave of this in the last week in Michigan, and it may be coming from the same person or group). There are limits to everything, it's common sense.
