Not being shape for his pro day? Rumors that he may have been habitually late for team meetings, didn't have a great game against OSU. The drag racing stuff, to me, is dumb 19 year old stuff, but two people he knew were in a violent crash and he left the scene..........that's far worse than the drag racing itself. The being out of shape (with millions of dollars on the line) and *allegedly* being late for team things.........does that fit with the current Lions culture? I guess they'll have to meet him and get an idea of he's moldable. This team doesn't seem to have and would likely not tolerate malcontents. Or are the late-for-team things a smoke screen by some teams to drop his value? I know that happens.

So many ballplayers are robotic and defensive, especially now, that it's the characters that stand out. His reaction to his curtain call on Monday Night was awesome, he was overwhelmed and humbled, he was in tears.

Schoop, 2b, it just feels like every AB for him is a missed opportunity to see a future player Baddoo, lf, I don't think he should be on the team over Carpenter, but they need some speed somewhere Bench: Rogers, Vierling, Ibanez, Kriedler. Nevin replaces Ibanez when he gets healthy. Kerry Carpenter starts in Toledo, where he'll get everyday ABs. Toledo's lineup will be worth following. Keeping an eye on Malloy and Lipcius Maybe Schoop starts out hot and the Dodgers trade a keg of beer for him.

Think about the atmosphere that Dan Campbell has built. Just 2 1/2 years ago Matt Patricia was an absolute locker room cancer. Players couldn't get away from him fast enough and I don't know how to judge or compare this, but he may be the most hated Head Coach (from a player standpoint) in the modern NFL era. It was that bad. Now guys are coming back. Glagow talked to his old friends. JRM talked to Glover Quin and some other guys he trusts. They want in. They WANT to actually play here. That's why Lamar Jackson would be an awful fit here. Any guy that refuses to support his team or even travel with them for a playoff game, contract negotiation or not, is not going to be a fit for a group like this. These players are buying in. Even when they were losing last year, you didn't hear players bitching, did you? I don't recall it. They were buying in. Taylor Decker said it after a tough loss, that it's different. We've never had expectations like this here, not in my life. It's a bit scary. Just get a veteran game-manager QB to back up Goff, please. That feels like the one thing that could tear them to pieces, a major Goff injury.

When an interviewer in the 90s said his career was tragic, Fidrych corrected him and said "Tragic? I started an All-Star Game, it was great". if they did sign Carson Wentz, that would be interesting to have the #1 and #2 pick from the same season at the same position when most draft experts were saying either/or. Maybe they draft a Hendon Hooker or an Aidan O'Connell but don't use them as the #2 QB, let them watch. I know that is very tricky, trying to keep 3 QBs on the roster, but if they drafted a rookie for a team that is ready to win now, they'd be smart to buffer them for a year. Matt Ryan wants one more shot at glory. Carson Wentz is trying to prove he can still play. I wanted Taylor Heinecke, but he went to the Falcons.

Lions luck would be that they look great, things are humming along the first 3 weeks and then Goff goes down and we STILL DONT HAVE A BACK UP. Carson Wentz with an Offensive Line might be great. Matt Ryan - being a game manager might be great. A rookie with no experience stepping in to run a somewhat complicated offense that is very dependent on timing over raw talent would be a disaster.
