  1. Well, everyone doesn't have a bidet..............
  2. Every couple of years Chris needs to talk to a baseball consultant about if the GM/President is moving things in the right direction. Al Avila must have been quite the salesman. Too bad he couldn't use those skills on other GMs and Agents. Or maybe Chris was just gullable and not knowing baseball (and to me that is evident) made him an easy mark.
  3. Thats why I am saying he has to draft and develop nearly perfectly. That's the only way they're getting out of this. And it takes forever. So yeah, comparing to the miserable 1989-2005 years, we're really in about 1996 and even then it took an owner, who loved baseball and followed the game closely getting sick of losing and having to overpay on a couple of older free agents who people thought were done (Pudge, Magglio) and being fortunate enough to get rejected by the steroid-inflated Rich Aurilla which prompted us to take the guy he replaced, Carlos Guillen who may have been one of the best moves in the entire Illitch era. It took the owner getting absolutely fed up with losing to commit to that. But there's a problem with that now too. Pudge was $10 million a year, to nab anything like that now, it's probably $35 million and I don't see Chris doing that - ever. Thanks to the second-biggest free agent failure in Tiger history, Harvey Baez, Chris is going to recoil a spending anything big for a long time. (Jordan Zimmermann is the biggest flop, Harvey's got time to unseat him). But winning meant a lot to Mike, but the feeling I get, and I could be really wrong, is that Chris just isn't that into baseball and watched his dad spending part of his inheritance on it. It comes down to Chris not recognizing Avila was a total failure (I love your Reign Of Error remark) sooner. 2019 should have been it. 47 wins should have been the indicator that this ain't working, but those 3 extra years are probably going to cost us 5-6 more years of bad baseball unless Harris is near-perfect at recognizing talent. If he isn't, then were talking the 2030s before we even have a chance. Damn. I'll be 70 in 2034.
  4. This team is so bad that if they devised a way of cheating like the Astros and knew what pitches were coming they still wouldn't hit league average.
  5. Press Release: Johnny Kane will no longer work during Tiger games for Bally Sports.
  6. There are some managers that make a big difference, but usually in the short term. Billy Martin could always get a team to play better - for awhile, until he just burned everyone out.
  7. Maybe he ain't all that as a manger. I mean, the Astros flat-out ignoref him when he told them to stop cheating (but did he?).
  8. I know Hinch ain't making a gourmet meal with the groceries he currently has, but for f**k's sake, don't overcook everything.
  9. ♫ To everything churn-churn-churn. We have no bullpen churn-churn-churn And all we can expect is a miserable season ♫
  10. I didnt watch the game because I have 2 full time jobs for the next couple of weeks, but please tell me............Did Cisnero only throw one pitch?
  11. Awwww Wittle Ewon got his feewings huwt.
  12. Not when you don't really have players anyone would want to trade anything good for and an owner who has yet to prove he's committed to, well, much of anything baseball-related.
  13. Yes, I agree with all of that. Scott Harris made MASSIVE changes in the team structure, changes that were long overdue. And even if Harris does everything 100% right with drafting and developing, this team has no real shot at being decent until about 2026. But still. We've been beaten down for a long time here. Not just with the Tigers, but with all our teams. It's been a horrific sports decade and only Michigan & Michigan State have occasionally given us something to get excited about. In the moment it's just brutal. We all understand where the franchise is at, but damn this is hard to go through AGAIN. We keep hearing the Red Wings are turning a corner and then they fall off a cliff. The Pistons are an absolute disgrace and I don't think they'll ever contend again because we are now in an era where players determine where to go and nbot teams (and none of those guys want to play in a city like Detroit) and the Tigers didn't get all the way to a World Series win 2006-2013 but at least it was exciting. It's so bad that the Lions are the hope now. The freaking Lions.........are you kdding me? (And I feel like it's a wait-and-see for which truly bizarre curse-enabled thing happens to them that lets us all down). We're all just tired of it all and being told to wait again is really hard to take.
  14. Ask the Pistons. 7 years of tanking has only taught them how to lose. Plus they have a very slim chance of getting the #1 pick even with the worst record. They got the #1 pick 2 years ago and he's play in about 35% of the games he could have played. Pistons might as well move to Seattle.
  15. Well, I would like to thank the Tigers for saving money - because I will not be buying another month of the Bally Sports app. I mean, I could save money and pay a dominatrix to whip me in the back. It would be less painful than watching this for another four months. Maybe I'll buy MiLB and watch the Mud Hens.
  16. AJ Hinch is suffering a fate worse than suspension.
  17. I've broken that bone catching the corner of a wall in bare feet. He likely won't be out too terribly long. If it's a hairline fracture he could be back in a month. But of course, why rush him? Mike Lorenzen............YOU'RE UP !
  18. That was like predicting the sun coming up. But I will go to the liquor store anyway because I need a fuckin' drink. Eliminated by Mother's Day...........again.
  19. The way I feel about the way things are going, I am expecting to hear that in Manning's last inning he started feeling pain in his arm and he'll be getting TJ before June. That's just how it is with this team. And to answer your question Tigerbomb, I don't know if they do break 50. But they already fired everyone, so who do you blame now? Chris Illitch for not realizing Al Avila was a bust 2 years earlier? It's 1989-2005 all over again and on that time line we are in about 1996, we are in for a very long, painful slog here.
  20. It was 5-3, I went to the bathroom..............WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? And it was only urination, it didn't take that long. Kind of cruel leaving him out there to suffer.
  21. Englert - first pitch goes bye bye. Ugh.
  22. What would it take to get Devin White, who wants to be traded. Two 2nd Rounders? 1 this year and 1 next?
  23. I think if he hadn't been coached by maybe the worst defensive coach I've ever seen that maybe his career gets off to a better start and he becomes the player some thought he would become. Most of us were disappointed with that pick on draft night and most of us were right.
  24. Took a #3 pick and turned it into a 5th Round pick. Bob Quinn & Matt Patricia just kicked us in the balls one last time - because this is more on Patricia and his horrible coaching more than anything else.
