  1. If Kalif busted outside instead of inside, its 30 yards at least
  2. we have to listen to Romo all afternoon?
  3. What a call on 3rd down..........sure fooled 'em there.
  4. 3rd & 7............make sure you throw it 5 yards here
  5. Hutch gets through.................there was no flag on that play, he was totally held.
  6. Lions get off to a fast start and lead 20-7 when Goff throws a pass to Hockenson, who was obviously interfered with and a flag is thrown and inexplicably picked up. Team collapses and loses 24-20. Head of officiating spotted in Jerry Jones suite.
  7. Oh wait, Swift unlikely to play again.................he's done. Time to find a new RB. So here we are still looking for Defensive Line help and a RB in the draft again. Holmes gets longer than Campbell, but he'd better be close to perfect the next two drafts. 1991 sure was fun. Let's hire the coach before the GM. Winning strategy.
  8. Dan Campbell and the Coaches have their defining moment today. If this team gets destroyed today, after two weeks to prepare, then we are getting an idea of what we're in for the rest of the way. If the wheels fall off today we're probably looking at a Top 3 pick because if they look anything like the New England game, we are going to be in for a very long season. I don't know, maybe the plan was to tank all along, but I don't think so. If they are horrible the rest of the season how do you bring Campbell back? The Seattle and New England games all but killed the energy behind this team. If they face Miami at 1-5 do you think the crowd at Ford Field is really going to bring that same energy back. They don't need to win today, but they'd better took like they are prepared to play and hopefully we get to see Dallas' punter a few times. They are angry after a loss and Dak is going to want to show something today. Will this team be able to stop a QB who rolls out, because this is Dallas will do and if the Lions don't have an answer this time, maybe its time for a DC change. Not feeling good about this one at all Dallas 38, Lions 23 Looking forward to Swift playing half the game and then missing the next 3 weeks. 2nd round pick - it never ends. When do Dylan Larkin and Cade Cunningham get hurt for the rest of the season? Feels like only a matter of time. Detroit - where sports fans go for torture.
  9. I know we need to upgrade at middle infield, desperately, but Correa is probably going to want $35 million a year. Was his 2022 a $35 million season? Were any of his years worth that much? The Twins were only 5 games better after adding him. They need too much to throw a massive amount at one or two players. They need to add 3 or 4 good bats to this lineup and hope they fix Tork and see Greene develop at the same time. They're too far away to just go nuts on one player like that. Plus, I doubt they sign too many hitters until they move in the fences in RCF and CF. FIRST MOVE - BRING IN THOSE FENCES. Go for the next tier of guys. Brandon Nimmo, Andrew Benintendi are two guys I'd love to see them get. To OBP guys who don't need big power numbers, because with this ballpark, even with adjustments, you are not getting players who like to hit home runs. If Victor Reyes or Akil Baddoo start more than 40 games next year, it means that your team probably sucks. As far as Austin Meadows, I wouldn't count on him ever playing again. If he does, great, if gives you a guy to move around and rotate the DH spot. As far as infield, there are not a lot of good second-tier guys. Harold Castro is a better option than Schoop. I'd like to see them trade for hometown guy Jon Berti because when he does get on base, he seems to make things happen and he won't cost a lot to acquire. I'd rather see Castro or Berti than Schoop again. Give Candy a chance to redeem himself with better coaching and hope, just hope Javy turns it around because we're stuck with him. I can't see them spending $30 a year for Correa, Trae Turner or Xander. And Dansby Swanson........no thanks - being on a great team hides him a bit. No hiding here. As far as pitchers go...........That's a mess. I have a feeling we'll be lucky if any of our 3 young guys starts more than 15 games next year. Not encouraged about Skubal returning in the first half, Mize is already lost and the news about Manning's dead arm scares me. Is Beau Breiske going to be back next year, or Alex Faedo (who got figured out)? We are hopeful for Spencer Turnbull's return but TJ guys usually need time to get it right again. So what do we enter the season with in the rotation. Eduardo (who might want out), Tyler Alexander, Turnbull (maybe) and Joey Wentz and maybe, hopefully Matt Manning. That means you hope for someone out of the Rony Garcia, Ty Madden, Wilmer Flores, Reese Olson, Chance Kirby and Auston Bergner group to dazzle us in ST, but the way we seem to treat and handle our pitchers, we'll probably lose them to injury at some point too). We have to try to find one or even two scrap heap starters that are trying to prove themselves again. We do this every year and other than Mike Fiers it usually fails - badly. Not giving up on Ryan Kreidler yet, but 22 Ks in 78 ABs tells me he's not ready yet. Let's not Tork him. I don't expect an Absolutely Everything Went Wrong situation again, but Scott Harris has a very difficult job ahead of him. Lets hope Chris Illitch lets him invest some money into things and MOVE IN THOSE DAMN FENCES !
  10. All of our teams suck. We are cursed.
  11. Nope, not enough. It wouldn't be shameful enough for those pigs. DAMMIT HIRSCHBERG !
  12. When Russian forces are caught the same things should be done to them.
  13. How about in the future - instead of trying to swing for a possible home run, just pick a guy who you know is going to be a contributor in the 2nd round. Even if they aren't going to be awesome, just someone that can consistently play well? They take an awful lot of chances for a team that never does anything. How about building it up, getting good enough to contend and then you take the home run swing? They've missed on so many. Honestly guys, how many times have you watched the NFL draft and saw the list of good players still available for their 2nd round pick only to go "Wait, what?" They got it right with Swift. Too bad his career will be Billy Sims-length, but that one you went "alright, there you go". I don't recall too many other times where that happened. I hope Josh works out this year, but there were a number of guys there that could have helped this team immediately and several of them are already contributing. When the called Josh Pascal's name it was another "um............okay.........maybe". Now Josh is in a position were he is going to have to really be good to seem like we didn't mess up again and we might be asking too much of him. Just look at the 2nd round guys of the last decade that were taken in the picks right after the Lions. Have a drink first, you'll need it.
  14. What makes that play even greater is how he didn't trip the guy. Just a great play.
  15. This idea that sometimes you miss on a pick is annoying. 1st and 2nd round players are supposed to be starting players at the least. When you whiff on 2nd rounders 8 out of 10 years, you are missing out on a lot of starting talen. Did Levi have back issues in college too? There's your curse.........the second round...........through every single regime of the last 30 years.
  16. So Levi got back surgery and is out for the season............that feels like bust now. Do guys his size fully recover from back surgery? Another 2nd found fail. Every regime. It's so puzzling.
  17. That play by Larkin was the Tayshaun play vs. Indiana, it wasn't nearly as important as that, but it was the same type of play........The fans will always love you when you play like that - even if you lose.
  18. Our new Top 5 - Coach Hot Seat Rankings. (This doesn't mean a coach is about to get fired) 5. Dan Campbell, Detroit - I have to have 5, so he's in that ranking now. Will he be fired? No, not as of now. But if he coaches a couple more games like the New England game..........he might not be as safe as you think. In-Season Firing Odds 0% After Season 10% 4. Frank Reich, Indianapolis - He's gotten a couple of wins recently, but the team is far from expectations. I think he'll survive the season, but it all depends on the finish. In-season firing odds 10% After Season 50% 3. Ron Rivera, Washington - Got an ugly win vs. the Bears but he's been getting pretty short-tempered, meaning he's feeling pressure right now. The whole team is a goddamned mess and the owners want Snyder out. Riverboat Ron has had some bad bets this year and this team is far behind in the NFC Beast. In-season firing odds 30% After Season 75% 2. Nathaniel Hackett, Denver - It's been brutal. Russ seems to be on a sharp decline (some say he's out of shape too). This team has floundered offensively on national TV. They aren't out of any playoff picture yet, but if Hackett doesn't unlock Russ soon, he won't survive for a second season and I'm not convinced he finishes the first. In-Season firing odds 30%, After Season 80% 1. Kliff Kingsbury, Arizona. He really hadn't done anything previously to show he's worthy of an NFL Coaching Job. It was a reach to begin with. Plus there is a theory that Kyler really doesn't do his homework and every season after Call of Duty gets released his stats plummet. Fun theory. The thing is that the Cards, at 2-4, are only a game out in a very disappointing division. In-season firing odds 75%. After season 90%. Call of Duty comes out October 28th.
  19. Starting tonight..........Starting with tonight's sit !
  20. Yep, the second I saw it I thought 4-6 weeks for Tuzz..............it was obvious it was gonna be more than a bruise.........guys like him don't collapse like that.
  21. You know what? That went right over my head..............how did I miss that? Well played, sir. I apologize unreservedly. I deeply regret any distress that my actions may have caused you or your family and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such behavior at any time in the future.
  22. Hey Tom............should have stayed retired.
  23. Well...........The Coaches Poll 1 - Georgia 2 - Ohio State 3 - Michigan 4 - Tennessee 5 - Clemson 6 - Alabama The AP Poll 1 - Georgia 2 - Ohio State 3 - Tennessee 4 - Michigan 5 - Clemson 6 - Alabama Down in Tuscaloosa the fans are probably screaming for Saban to be fired for dropping down to #6................. In My 8 team scenario (Champ from each Power 5 and then 3 wild cards) Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, TCU and UCLA are the conference reps with Michigan, Tennessee and Alabama invited as Wild Cards.
