  1. Jameis is still out there, right? So is Baker Mayfield.
  2. I'll keep playing 5.5 overs in the NHL until they stop giving them. I have won 18 out of 28 times doing that.
  3. WOW, another fleecing by Yzerman. Nice work (I'm just practicing)
  4. Beatles are easily #1 to me. Think about all the music they made and the impact on culture and the music biz itself. They did all that in about 7 years. That's it. To change that much about music, albums, culture, social attitudes in just 7 years is something that just won't ever happen again. Then I'd put Dylan who changed the way people listen to folk music and what folk music could really be. The Stones and Zeppelin are great bands but they basically were taking old blues music and modernizing it. I would put the Kinks ahead of both of them because of how they shaped (and still shape) Power Pop. What, no love for the Eagles? (Joking)
  5. I'm not saying we'd be any better here. The game is violent The players are rewarded and praised for their violence (from the time they are about 14 years old) Layers upon layers of protection so they can play (Adrian Hernandez, anyone?) They feel untouchable because they often are, until they get caught, and even then it takes a major outcry. Ray Rice got 2 games initially. Guys that smoke weed at that time would get 4 or 8 games. The rhetoric is violent The highlights are often violent And now the fans have become violent, plenty of videos out there. I wouldn't take a child to an NFL game now. No way.
  6. Beau The Bopper is gone...............for now
  7. Best of luck to Sparty today............end Coach K's career. Can't stand that guy. Actually I can't stand how every praises him so much, it's ridiculous. Won't have to hear that anymore if Sparty wins today.
  8. I think Watson misses half the season on suspension and that is a lot of idle time to get into more trouble. He'll get into more trouble. The reason is that he pretty much got away with horrible behavior, and he probably thinks he's invincible. He's a predator and predators don't stop on their own, they may go quiet for awhile, but he'll go back to his ways. Wonder how those Cleveland fans who chanted "Rape-lis-ber-ger (Clap Clap, Clap-Clap-Clap)" will embrace Watson. They will love him. We love our football, but it is a cesspool or just horrible people and horrible fans. Ray Rice got a standing ovation at Ravens practice AFTER the video of him knocking out his girlfriend came out. That says it all. I don't know where Baker ends up. Dude played through beatings for Cleveland. I don't think he's that talented, but he's tough as hell. Could be Houston, close to home. Maybe Seattle. Maybe Atlanta, who seem to be shopping Matt Ryan or maybe Indy, who doesn't seem to want him. New Orleans is in play too. I think Baker goes to a team that drafts a young QB as a Goff-like band-aid. I don't think Cleveland gets a first round pick for him. They are not in a position of leverage here. They HAVE to get rid of him. I expect him to have a Marcus Mariota-like career. Still good, but not really a starter on a good team.
  9. I am really really sorry. I apologize unreservedly. I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact and was, in no way, fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice and I deeply regret any distress my comments may have caused you, or your family and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future
  10. Who is this Cartoon fellow?
  11. I think if you play or want to play for an A.J. Hinch team, you probably need to do it. Think about the Tigers team. The only ones that really don't play multiple positions are Barnhardt and Miggy. All our Outfielders are capable multi-position players and even though they only use Candelario at 3rd base, we know he's a respectable 1st baseman too.
  12. I just started watching the game (from the beginning). I am very jealous of that weather. It sucks in the D today. What a dreary day. As of his first AB today Riley Greene has an OPS of 3.500. He should just retire now. He'll never top that.
  13. And the Rangers are going to flop like the Padres did last year.
  14. The Twins? For 3 years? Oh fuck you, asshole. You just became my most hated player. I hope you fail.
  15. Arcade Fire is an acquired taste, but this new one is a vintage AF song and I certainly hope it marks the end of their disco-influenced detour.
  16. I like that song............they (The Looking Glass) had a follow up called Jimmy Loves Mary-Ann that should have been a hit.
  17. We'll need 8 starters, at least, this year, so since he's on the roster, We'll see Joey this year. And I like Alexander's role of bullpen guy/spot starter/MASH unit starter. It's worked out alright so far.
  18. I hope those 13 starts are good ones. Peralta, Wentz, Olson or Hutchison should be ready by then.
  19. Willi is not leaving. You know that. You know why? ♫ Cause little Willi, Willi won't go home But you can push Willi round Willi won't go Try tellin' everybody but, Oh No Little Willi, Willi won't go home ♫ (if you know the song, it is firmly implanted in your brain now.........a very solid earworm).
  20. Why would anyone choose to live in such a morale-free Hellscape?
  21. 4:30? Where are you? Is that TRAVERSE city?
  22. Wait a minute, Javy Baez refusing to play because they haven't named him the team Captain? What?
  23. Headline reads Phillies in serious pursuit of Castellanos. Makes it sound like Nick is driving somewhere and they are chasing him through the streets.
