  1. Staley indeed finally gets fired.
  2. I know the seats are a little wider and roomier(atleast I think they are) but I never got why the seats down by home plate got upgraded. I'm only judging based off of TV but it seem like most other stadiums have the big padded "first class" type chairs behind the plate where as Comerica is essentially the same as a regular seat. Aside from the comfort of the fan I just think aesthetically on TV it looks cheap and less than when you compare it to other stadiums.
  3. Yes this is what I meant, they're the type of guys that have a real chance at being MLB regulars but are far from sure things and are the type of playerss that you expect a system to have multiple of in any given year so if you are afraid of blocking players like that then you might as well never dip your toes into FA or trading cause you should always have guys like that in your system. As you said they're not the premium guys like Greene and Tork were viewed at where you may only get prospects of that caliber every 5-10 years so you want to make sure that you take full advantage of them.
  4. I know the Chargers are banged but this is exactly why people are correct in saying this is a week to week league and why you can't compare things by saying things like "Team x struggled against team y, team z dominated them so team z is better than x."
  5. I hate this notion of "blocking" a hitter, particularly with how players and teams lineup today. For starters hardly anybody plays 150 games even if they are healthy so guys are always taking days off and for another fewer and fewer guys have set positions instead they just plug guys all over the diamond. So between the two you can easily mix and match a number of different players and find enough at bats for all them, other teams do it all the time. Not to mention guys like Malloy and Jung aren't the type of prospects you should even be worrying about "blocking" anyway, I mean I have hopes for them but these aren't two legit top tier prospects, in my opinion. Atleast not good enough where you should be turning away legit players if you could acquire them....which to me is the main issue and that's that there aren't a ton of said players bats on the FA market. I suspect that's the main reason why we haven't or likely won't get any major bats and not because Harris doesn't want to "block" anybody.
  6. They also have Madden and Jobe who if all goes well could be ready by mid season to help out in the rotation if/when some of the starters get hurt or traded.
  7. Rays and Dodgers have agreed on a trade for Tyler Glasnow contingent on Glasnow signing an extension with LA.
  8. I'm fine with it, probably isn't going to blow us away but if we were looking for somebody to fill the Lorenzen role he could do just that, projections have him at 150IP of 4.3 ERA. While they probably are hoping he can rediscover what he had earlier in his career I think the Tigers would be fine with those numbers.
  9. That and they have Wemby. Hard to think of a situation anywhere that is worse than ours. At one time I thought the one silver lining we potentially had was the young franchise player but now I'm not so sure about that, atleast him being a franchise player for the Pistons anyway. He may become one somewhere else though.
  10. Legit question is it worse to be a "game manager" for say 10 yrs or somebody like Cam who may have that special season or two where he does carry the team but in the other 8 or 9 he ends up costing the team cause he can't "manage a game" or are forced to miss games cause you try to do too much? Btw not saying those guys are the cliched game manager just asking the question in the hypothetical sense.
  11. True, could you imagine if Baez had a similar clause except it was a guarantee he'd opt out if the person left the organization? That person would be treated worse than Milton from Office Space.
  12. Wow that's a new one, talk about having leverage, that person could ask for anything and he or she would probably get it.
  13. Edman or Mark would probably know more about this but I have heard in the past one of the biggest advantages large market teams have particularly the Dodgers is not even so much the money to splurge on big name FAs but the extra resources they can put forth to scouting, development and analytics. I have read that its not an accident or particular methodology they have that the Dodgers always have a stacked system and churn out major league players its because the sheer amount of money and personnel they can allocate to it gives them such a leg up over the competition.
  14. I don't know much about fantasy bball but I may have to do a daily league tonight and take Embiid along with a couple cheaper/sleeper Sixers.
  15. I mean when you only play 17 games vs 162 you're naturally going to have more parity and teams in it. Just imagine what the MLB playoff race would look like if the season ended in Mid April instead of October.
  16. I know many fear another Blake trade and in turn bring up guys like Lavine but I think Blake was a special case since he was a big star in LA where Gores spends all his time, I think somebody like Lavine or Poole don't have the cache in Gores eyes that Blake had so I'm skeptical he would force a move for one of them.
  17. Btw the two Goff ints yesterday I really don't count as true turnovers since they were on 4th and longs. If it was any other down he very well may not even attempt either throw.
  18. I feel like I'm in Bizarro World with Buddha being the most positive out of everybody and being the voice of reason.
  19. lol Hutch was literally being hugged by the lineman RIGHT in front of the official and no flag was thrown. I mean the official was legit looking right at the play.
  20. Jerry "flag" Jacobs with his weekly PI call.
  21. Nice to allow Sweat to shove Goff to the ground clearly after he released, surely that wouldn't have been a penalty if that were us doing it.
  22. I will say those are some sweet press box seats that Soldier Field has, looks much closer to the field than other stadiums.
  23. Nice to see a dominate Hutch series.
  24. Hard to believe that out of the 8 billion people on Earth there isn't atleast 1 available that can kick better than Patterson.
  25. Lions caught a break by the Bears trying to be too cute on 4th and short. Hopefully that can help turn things around in this game!
