  1. It sucks for the Lions sake that the Eagles appear to be well in control of this one but a good consolation prize for me would be to see Devito come crashing back down to Earth while getting embarrassed on national TV. I think it's time his 15 minutes are up, tired of hearing about him and his agent.
  2. The Browns kinda deserve the asterisk in the sens that technically the Ravens were the previous Cleveland franchise and this current one is essentially an expansion team. I think the current one started in 99 or 00 so if you go by that then it's at 24 years, still pathetic nonetheless.
  3. There is this belief that because Brady was seemingly able to do it that great QBs can carry an offense no matter who they have around them and that is just false. We've seen it time and time again that outside of the GOATs you need good playcallers, atleast some play makers and most importantly an offensive line. Sure you may get 1 season here and there like Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson had where they were just so all world and so athletic that they were able to do it almost by themselves but that has proven to not be sustainable.
  4. Never saw one either but judging by the way Badgely's kicks looked I'm going to guess it was his fault. Every one was this low darting slice, they almost all looked like shanks but were fortunate enough that they were XPs so it was close enough to still get through the uprights....barely.
  5. Highest graded defenders per PFF for the LIons in week 16. EDGE Romeo Okwara (91.3), DB Ifeatu Melifonwu (89.8), DB Brian Branch (88.0), LB Jack Campbell (76.3), LB Alex Anzalone (75.8) Interesting that Branch still graded so high despite the dropped pick and penalty, shows just how well he must of played the rest of the game. Also nice to see another dominant performance from Iffy and Campbell appears to have turned a corner the past month or so atleast by PFF's metrics. He was one of the lowest graded LBs in football at the beginning of the year but lately he is getting well above average grades every game. Great sign for his future!
  6. The 00s was definitely a helluva ride for Detroit Sports, hell they even hosted a Final Four and Super Bowl during it too as well as all the team success. Felt like there were always big games going on here.
  7. This is also the first division title by a Detroit Sports team since the Tigers in 2014, going 9 years or basically 36 individual seasons without winning a division may be more pathetic than the Lions thirty year drought.
  8. I think back to where I was when the Lions last won the division and hosted a playoff game. I was an 11 year old kid who while being a big Lions fan was a bigger fan of the Power Rangers. I remember my Mom telling my brothers and I that she would take us to Toys R Us and buy us a couple Power Rangers(they were in demand and hard to get but were getting a new shipment in that day) but we'd be forced to have to behave while shopping with her the rest of the day. We took the deal and in turn only got to hear bits and pieces of the game while traveling between stores but considering the outcome of the game and how awesome those toys were it was probably smart move. Still though no way you could've told me then that I would have to wait till I was in my 40s to see another Lions division win and home playoff game.
  9. I thought the defense played pretty good, wouldn't say great but good enough. I know people will say "well they gave up 400 yards to Nick Mullens" while that is true it wasn't like guys were constantly running free, they of course had the required horrible defensive series to open the 2nd half but for the most part Mullens either had to make good throws or the receivers made spectacular plays to pick up the yards. Also I know people are gonna say "they barely won to a Nick Mullins led team despite forcing 4 turnovers" and factually that's true but that doesn't put the turnovers in context. Not all TOs are the same and with the exception of the game sealer the previous 3 were of the low leverage variety. Hell the 1 Gibbs fumble probably had more of an effect on the win probability than those 3 Mullins TOs because of the context in which it came. The first INT was on 4th down where the INT actually helped the Vikings, the next two were heaves on long down and distances in series where they were very likely to punt any way so again no real harm done where as the Gibbs fumble almost assuredly took points off the board for the Lions considering how they were driving and were about to have a 1st down in Vikings territory.
  10. I knew Sheila was different from the moment they conducted their coaching and GM search. The fact she brought in guys like Spielman and others to make sure they made the right choice was different than previous owners. One of her early interviews always stuck out to me as well, it was with one of the radio guys but she talked about being really competitive and cited being a really good softball and soccer player and how important winning always has been to her. She didn't come across as somebody that was gonna put up with long term mediocrity, and she showed that by basically giving Quinntricia the playoff ultimatum. You could argue if she should have done that or not but it atleast showed that she wasn't going to settle for mediocrity. Also I always think back to that 2021 draft where she was asking Campbell and Holmes about the need for WR and they pointed to their board(presumably to St. Brown) and told her that they have their eye on him and think they could get him later. I just like the fact that she was knowledgeable or assertive enough to point out a clear need but at the same time didn't over step her boundaries and instead just let the pros do their job.
  11. The game was moving at such a frenzied pace at that point I didn't want to stop to make the post but I don't get why the booth didn't take a look at the spot on that Jefferson catch? I know the yellow line isn't official but the side judge clearly marked it a half yard short of that initially. Not to mention the fact he went to the ground with the ball, I never did see a replay that even showed if he truly caught the ball or not.
  12. Un****ingbelievable, Comiskey can win the division by falling on it but doesn't then Vikings come back and convert a 3rd and 27 this team is cursed.
  13. Its going to depend on our defense keeping Minnesota out of the end zone in guaranteed 4 down territory for them.
  14. HUGE penalty on the Vikings to give the Lions a 1st!
  15. I don't feel confident in our kicking at all, if it's say 4th and 3 or a 40 yd FG I think I'd go for the 4th down to be honest.
  16. Welp looks like our offense is going to have to go get atleast 1 more TD if we want to win this.
  17. I guess you could say atleast there were no incompletions so they ran off some clock atleast.
  18. Mullens with the arm punt there. Will count as an INT but was basically the same as punt really.
  19. Badgley kicks such an ugly ball, Jesus even the ones that go through look like they are darting right and would have no chance from outside of 30.
  20. Gibbs makes it alot harder on himself by not catching it clean but still makes a guy(s) miss to make it 1st and goal.
  21. Great tackle there on 3rd down to force what I believe is the 1st Minnesota punt of the game.
  22. Good answer by the Lions, and the XP is blocked. No chance that doesn't come back to play a factor right?
  23. Goff calling for the snap for 5 seconds and Ragnow just holds onto it.
  24. Another pathetic start out of halftime, when it happens a couple times I think maybe it's just a coincidence or fluke but when it happens every week there obviously is some problem.
